I’m not connected to anybody at the athletic department, this is just a name I’ve heard a couple times over the radio in regards to who would be a candidate.

I know he played at LSU in the 80s and has been a quintessential element in various renovations around campus regarding athletics.

Is he a worthy candidate or an Alleva disciple?

Eta: personally, I’d like to completely clean house and start new. Woodward and Radakovich obviously would be the first two names I’d try but I don’t know if they’re willing to come here.

If it wasn’t for Verge Ausberry the athletic department would be in ruins right now. With that said, I would still look outside

The idea is that Verge would be the interim, not a permanent solu-- (remembers what happened with the football head coach search)

ohhh so that's why people are worried

Better than Alleva IMO... But I really want Alleva gone.

I know it sounds funny but everything he has been put in charge of has been a success. Alleva actually tried to take credit for several of his accomplishments

The coaches will love Verge as long as he is AD, I’ll say that much. Do I think he’s qualified for the role long term? Eh, undecided on that. Let him try and prove himself in the interim role. I’ve heard Skip’s name thrown around.

Radakovich isn't leaving Clemson.

I like Verge, but he’s the reason Herb Vincent isn’t our AD.

I'd expect him to be the interim.

Ironically, if they named him as the permanent AD, that would be such a "Joe Alleva hire" that I'd have to laugh.

If you were Woodward, why leave where you are?

Verge is good at what he does but he doesn't have the business acumen needed for an AD.

Woodward would hire back Verge A anyway. I think people underestimate his skills/utility for the program. He was part of the rebuilding when Saban came in too. He may not be permanent AD material but he is not the bumbling fool some here assume he is.
