Skip told one of his guys, ‘it’s my fault, not yours. I should have never recruited you.’ ....or something to that effect.

It's got to be maddening to be a baseball coach. It's such a fickle and finesse sport. CPM has made mistakes, but there is just something intangible about baseball that determines whether you're hot or not. It's an entirely different beast than football and basketball where you just out-muscle your opponent.
Whatever the issue is, they gotta get it figured out or it'll be curtain call for this team soon enough.

Just for future reference, when mocking someone for improper usage of the language, you’ll probably look a bit less stupid if you take a second yourself, and proofread what you just wrote.
Just saying.

He's right, but it's on the staff that it's happening this time of the year. Really undisciplined at the plate

The coaches deserve some of the blame but some of it is on the players as well. They aren’t taking advantage of opportunities. They also don’t battle at the plate like other LSU teams have. If they get two strikes they are out. Previous LSU teams under CPM rarely struck out and they battled and made the pitcher work from pitch one.
Duplantis has become a pull hitter and fly ball machine. I believe this is on Duplantis and the coaches. I find it hard to believe that the coaches would tinker much with him considering how great his career has been the last three years. Now it is the coaches responsibility to break him if any bad habits that he has formed or if they did change his swing they need to realize that’s not what they need and fix it back. I firmly believe that Duplantis was told after the draft last year he fell because he didn’t hit enough home runs so he changed his swing. He has hit more home runs but it has killed his average and took away from what made him great. I don’t recall a single hit through the left side the infield that probably 70 percent of his hits came from the last three years.

Hey Paul, This is what happens when you set the expectations at mediocre levels... “I’d be ecstatic with 10-5 in the SEC.”
So being on pace to win the SEC is now a mediocre expectation?

Throwing his players under the bus as usual. Never his fault !!

It just surprises me how a school at the level of LSU does not have a real hitting coach and has so many of their hitters going and getting assistance from outside help to get their swings back that were changed by their so called hitting coach.

feel like this happens when you put together a group of guys who have been superstars their whole life and have never really faced any adversity. It can create a culture of high expectations without effort. You know when you see it, talented individuals just going through the motions. They can't figure out why it's not as easy as it used to be when they were pounding high school pitchers and throwing 93 MPH flatliners down the middle of the plate right past batters that are going to be welders and electricians next year.
I agree with this statement.

Ah, it’s so not physical but mental with these guys. You can literally see it with almost every approach to the plate. Find a way to connect and get the confidence rolling.

Huh? So let me get this straight, you think he doesnt practice them in a manor to get them prepared? Hes been doing this for some time, and has multiple Omaha appearances. yet NOW he's doing it wrong?
Or maybe, just maybe, it weakens a team when top committed prospects go pro

Would Alabama football shooting for 10–3 each year because it’s possibly good enough to win the West be mediocre expectations? It’s pathetic that our coach would be ecstatic with dropping a game each series and fricking weird that someone who’s been paid millions to win national championships at the strongest college baseball program in the country would be “ecstatic” with barely squeaking by.
Very bizarre mindset which I don’t think I’ve ever heard coming from a successful coach at any level. PM is an absolute master at creating a weak non-conference schedule and winning 45 games so he can retain his job and it’s been that way for years.
20+ losses 4 years in a row. Skip did that 3 times in 17 years. We need to raise expectations

He’s admitted himself that there are times he hasn’t properly prepared the team. Out of his own mouth.
