Deadlines spur action in the NFL world. Monday marks a self-imposed deadline for Russell Wilson.

April 15 is the day the Seattle Seahawks quarterback told team brass he wanted a new contract done or he would cut off talks.

Would Wilson completely cut off talks and plan to go the Kirk Cousins route, playing the franchise-tag game until finally reaching the free-agent market where he would have even more leverage? Peter King wrote in his Football Morning in America column that Wilson told the Seahawks he won't do a long-term deal in Seattle at all if it's not done by Monday night.

There's rumors that Seattle could trade him, with the Giants and Raiders as potential suitors.

Makes very little sense for him to go there.

I do think the NYG rumors have legs because of Ciara and Wilson's other sports options.

Russell is a game manager. If Seattle were smart they would trade him for some sucker team who is willing to give up a lot.

Seattle should franchise him and sign Manziel as the backup hoping he can supplant him as the eventual starter. All y'all know you'd love to see it happen.

Russell Wilson is one of 6 QBs that deserve a franchise crippling deal.

Makes sense for the Giants to get Wilson because they need a dual-threat given their history of bad o-lines.

Russell Wilson won’t be a FA until 2022.
