I'm sure they would but I bet a bunch of flashes coming from the tower would be pretty obvious too.

Easier, sometimes, to ask for forgiveness than permission. Unless dead, of course.

So as a parent you raise an apparently bright child who has made all the right decisions so far only to have it all come crashing down. Kids just cant get that all it takes is one mistake and its over. Their mindset is its always someone else, never gonna happen to me. Feel bad for the parents.
Unfortunately, that is life. Yes, it sucks but we have all felt like "nothing will happen to me" but it does. I feel bad for her parents also, such an avoidable incident.

Of course it is. Things will probably change now, at least at that school.

unfortunately, that's a fairly lame stunt for a college kid, as I get older and look back I just shake my head at some of the shite we pulled, and lived to tell about(after statute of limitations expired, that is)

Not the same. But a German student jumped off the Science building about four years ago.

Yep, it is very tame but it resulted in a death. We had them in our time also. We all do stupid stuff (some more than others) and normally live to tell the tale.

The fact that she even got high enough to die from the fall is impressive. That looks like a tough climb.

I feel for her, her family, and her friends. She was participating in a tradition like many before, and it just happened to be her time.

Gosh that is heartbreaking.

Didn't something similar to this happen at LSU a few years back?

I remember a kid committed suicide or something and the parents couldn't accept it and cried foul play despite what investigators were saying.

According to an article I read, she was trying to get a perfect photo of the New York City skyline for her instagram page. The things we do for social media...
