Top draft choices for our positioning

Assuming we don’t jump top 3 and get one of the big 2, these are my favorite options in order who could be available when we pick. This is based on Zion, Morant, Culver, Barrett, Cam reddish, and the forward from Gonzaga all being gone
1. Darius Garland: hands down my favorite of the options we could have. Has all the potential in the world. Can shoot, pass, defend. I fear we will get Damian Lillarded by Memphis with Conley being on his way out soon. His floor as i see it DJ Augustine, his ceiling as i see it is a more efficient Damian Lillard.
2. Deandre Hunter: will most likely be off the board, but i see the road this guy is heading down, and i love it. He’s an elite defender with a developing offensive game. I’d love it if he fell to us if Garland was off the board. Floor: PJ Tucker. Ceiling: Demar Derozan.
3. Colby White: should be here when we draft and would be my choice if they two above are gone. Like Hunter, he is progressing rapidly. His offensive game is so versitile and i think he would make a great backcourt partner to Jrue. Floor: Dion Waiters. Ceiling: Diangelo Russell

Based off of 6 games isn’t enough for me to say he can do all of this. I’m sure he can shoot tho. Passing and defending we all have no clue about with the lack of competition he played before he got hurt.

As of now we pick before Memphis so unless they get into the top 4, we’re not getting “lillard’d”

If we somehow lucked into a chance at Hunter I’d love to get him. Having him possibly with Tatum and Jaylen brown would give us an abundance of wings and switchy players that we have lacked and longed for.
Colby white would be my second because I see him similar to a jamaal Murray and I think he and holiday could mesh well in the back court.
Garland would be a good fit as well. He just hasn’t had enough significant playing time to show consistency yet which is my main worry. But I like his potential

Depends on the trade, but give me Sekou’s upside any day.

Kevin Porter sounds intriguing. I admittedly haven’t seen him play at all, but sounds like a natural scorer with upside.

I agree with your list. I may add PJ Washington to the list as well but at the end.

I think there is a decent chance that Garland, Hunter, Reddish or Culver is there at #7. I would grab any of those 4.
I really like Whites pull up jumper but he’s a tweener just like Holiday. If we get Smart then he wouldn’t be the worse option.
Imo Garland is just too much of a great shooter to pass on if he’s available. I have him as the number 3 prospect in this draft. This kid is going to be a great NBA player.

I've looked at a few mock drafts this morning that had us taking Doumbouya. He played with France, right?
What's his game?
What's his game?

Basically a smaller raw Greek Freek. Never know if he will work as hard and put in all the work like Greek Freak did

Hunter being at 7 wouldn’t be surprising at all. Don’t think I’d consider him lucky personally. He will also he 22 early in the season, so he’s a bit older.
Us landing at 3 or 4 and Morant being there is lucky

I really like Garland. If we don’t get Morant or Zion somehow than I really want Garland. He pair perfectly with Holiday as the other guard. I like Hunter and Washington based on value. If we don’t get a top 2 pick of Morant or Zion than I believe we will get another late lottery pick in an AD trade. If that happens I want our pick to be Garland (who is number 3 on my wish list) than I would like value with the other pick. Hunter or Washington will most likely never be all stars but they can be solid role players. We need to bolster this roster with talent and one of those two guys will bring defensive energy and some offense off the bench. I view them as solid forwards off the bench of a great team.

Don’t sleep on Hunter. His improvement from his freshmen year to his sophomore year is night and day. He’s already a great 3 point shooter and an elite defender. As the season went he started doing post fade aways, almost Kawhi Leonard esque. He needs to work on his ball handling and driving. If he develops that, I think his ceiling is perineal all star if he continues developing like he has.

He himself has said he idolizes and tries to mold his game after Paul George and Tony Allen, so he focuses alot on defense, but he also has a 3 point shot (was shooting 25% in the beginning of the season but improved as the year went on).. and at 19 he still has alot of room to grow.. The perfect 3&D SF for us IMO if we get the Knicks package of Morant or Zion (I'm starting to lean more to wanting Ja), or he could play the 4 for us if we get the Boston package

Most mocks have him off the board 5-7. So not necessarily lucky I guess, but I really like him. He can shoot 3s, defend multiple positions at least 3 positions and small ball 4s, seems like a leader with great work ethic. I feel like he probably would be a star but a high end role player in the league. Which at 7 that would be what we are looking for

Hunter is one of the most stiff wings I have ever seen, with regard to guys projected to be taken that high. There is no fluidity to his handle or his movement. No wiggle. I am trying to think of the best player who is stiff like that. Demarre Carroll is the guy I keep coming back to, where he can defend multiple positions and can knock down an open shot, put in on the floor a little bit, but he won't ever really create his own offense or offense for others consistently.

If he can defend and can score an open look, there’s a place on the team. Not everyone is going to be able to do everything.

You take guys who have "a place for them on the team" later in the draft. Or get them in FA, a trade. As good as PJ Tucker is, you don't spend the 7th pick on him. Same with Ariza or Demarre Carroll. When you are drafting that high, you take home run swings IMO, because if you swing and miss, you can let the guy go and go get a PJ Tucker or Carroll or Ariza the way their current teams got them.
But you are never going to get an elite player for the MLE, for a 2nd round pick, or off the scrap heap, so if you even have a small chance of getting one in the draft, you take a swing on that guy. If you told me that Sekou had a 10% chance of turning into an All-Star and a 90% chance of being a bust, and that Hunter had a 100% chance of being Demarre Carroll, my philosophy would be to draft Sekou.
