Starting my first year coaching football this fall in Louisiana and from watching our teams film from last year we’ve got good size and when we lock up with people we are able to get some movement. Our problem is we don’t have very good footwork or quickness and any time we try to run counter or power where the guard pulls half the time the guy pulling never gets a hat on anyone. I know I could probably google this but does anyone here who has played or coach have any drills they personally know has helped them or their team?

Tennis lessons honestly.
Learned this by mistake. When you think about when getting to the ball in tennis it’s nothing but reaction in all direction based on your opponent. Also the distance is much just like O line.
I took tennis because it got me out of class for two days. Ended up likening it, took lessons over the summer surprised myself in two a days the following year.

Wait. You are coaching a team and you have to come to the MSB to get advice on coaching?

Honestly, go talk to the basketball coach. Lateral quickness is a big part of the game. I'm sure he will help you with some drills.

If there was ever a phrase that applied here:
Sometimes it’s the jimmies and joes over the X’s And O’s.

Perfect question to ask @3YearLetterman on Twitter. If he can't help you, nobody can
