I hear that. I will be going to game 2. I have to drive 2 hours to Dallas to catch a flight to St Louis early Friday morning and if game 1 goes deep into OT, then I will he hurting.

We were at the playoff game that went 3 OT's with the blackhawks a few years back, and had to catch a flight the next morning, which actually turned into the same day. Had to drive back down 44 to pick up our kids from Grandma's before heading to Lambert though, that was rough one.

Was the longest game in franchise history

Eh, enjoy it.

Much better ending than going in 4 like Tampa

Little less stressful after bringing the Cup home last season. Not too stressed to be honest. I will be extremely pissed if we get knocked out tonight because of the path that has been set up for us.

It's really funny how much the Saints winning the Super Bowl years back changed how much I follow sports. I guess that I had this incredible image of how much winning a Super Bowl would do..then when it finally happened, I was like "yeah, that was great...but not the end all / be all I expected." I still love to watch them but I'm way more detached from teams than I once was. Losses like the Saints / Rams games or last night's VGK game would have gutted me in years past. Now, I get into the games as they're happening...but any highs / lows dissipate quickly once they end. Hell, I was actually more bummed today when I read that Caesar wasn't going to be parading in Metry anymore. Very strange, to say the least.

Caps at home is a huge advantage and if they don’t get it done, it’s probably going to be that Carolina takes it away. As a canes fan, I don’t see it happening but I’m holding on to a little optimism...

Yeah and how did 1/9 go for you? I’ve never been so angry at a loss in my life. I just thought the Caps would never win a cup in my lifetime after their futility year after year. I really think we can go back to back but yeah in years past I’d be pessimistic and nervous as hell.

This was actually my come-to moment when it came to sports, and really didn’t have them dictate my happiness anymore (20 at the time) after being so mad for a week.
That got challenged again after the NFCCG bullshite that happened, but instead of just a day or two of anger and a week of disbelief (one of those things: if you were in the Dome you’ll never forget what it looked like in person), I probably would still be fuming

See I don’t get why some people are so hung up on wins/losses after an event. Your living and future doesn’t depend on it.

But then again I still don’t get the allure of getting drunk at a game

Yeah 1/9 definitely changed sports a little for me and how serious I took them. I was 25 and melted at the bar, just cursing so much. Was in disbelief that night. I had become numb to most DC failures over the past 9 years or so as well.
