Every day Yahoo News has a headline:
"AOC slams _(fill in Republican name)_ with devastating retort!"

Then when you read the story, AOC's response is along the lines of 'No, you are one.'

The 22nd Amendment to the United States Constitution.

Passed by the United States Congress on March 21, 1947

FDR died April 12, 1945

In the 1946 Midterm election Republicans ran on Limiting the Term of a President to 2 Terms. They won control of both the House and Senate.

AOC is incorrect because the Bill was submitted in January 1947

the 22nd Amendment was later ratified by the requisite number of states on the 27th of February in 1951.

The campaign to introduce a two-term limit on the U.S. presidency intensified after FDR's third and fourth elections in 1940 and 1944, giving rise to what ultimately became the 22nd Amendment in 1947. Those historical facts support what a spokesperson for Rep. Ocasio-Cortez said was the intended meaning of her remarks in March 2019.

Link? The issue was brought up before he died but no one legitimately started working on it until Rs retook house and Senate. Wasnt approved until 1947, and wasnt ratified until 1951.

Aoc is an idiot. No changing facts bud.

Yes and that is what fueled the legislation. People were afraid something like that would happen again. Her statements taken out of context would seem incorrect but within the framework they make perfect sense and you know it

Speaking words isnt the same as writing legislation. Stop stretching just to justify her stupidity.

You mean the facts she was 100% wrong about? The issue is binary. She was either right or wrong and she was very wrong.

Facts arent changed because of what you intended to mean. This is horseshite to say otherwise.

If AOC wasnt constantly saying idiotic things no one would care.

Her statements were heard loud and clear...like they always are. Dumb is dumb. No way around it. You can be a Democrat and call out her stupidity.

And?

AOC said:

They had to amend the Constitution of the United States to make sure Roosevelt did not get reelected."

When was the Amendment passed?

And yet she holds no candle to Donald Trump's idiocy.

"But talk about a presidential term-limits amendment started in 1944, when Republican candidate Thomas Dewey said a potential 16-year term for Roosevelt was a threat to democracy. In a speech in Buffalo on October 31, 1944, Dewey said, “four terms or sixteen years is the most dangerous threat to our freedom ever proposed. That is one reason why I believe that two terms must be established as the limit by constitutional amendment.”

It isn't a stretch to say that republican-controlled Congress later on was making this rule simply to prevent an FDR from happening again. You're playing semantics just to prove that she's an idiot. That's the real stretch here

Or something similar, yes

It is hilarious.

They are going to prop her up as some kind of quick-witted powerhouse, and her first national public debate will find her humiliated

Just because it was discussed ahead of time?

It could NOT be passed until he died, because there weren't enough people on board

Might be a paid GOP shill. Pose as a Democrat to make them look stupid.

Amazing job of staying in character.

Occasional Cortex has a room temperature IQ. As the mother of a daughter, I can tell you that she is the know it all that always starts a fight at the sleep over.

AOC has exaggerated her CV.
While Cheyney did this

She received her bachelor of arts degree (BA) from Colorado College, her mother's alma mater, where she wrote her senior thesis, "The Evolution of Presidential War Powers," (1988).[2] She received her J.D. degree from the University of Chicago Law School (1996), having also taken courses in Middle Eastern history at the Oriental Institute.[8]
