Sultan (name of guy at my work) weighs in on the healthcare debate

So there is this guy at my work named Sultan, and he is very opinionated when it comes to politics.
He said that it is extremely immoral that the United States as a country does not guarantee each of its citizens the right to free, safe, high quality, all encompassing, comprehensive health care. He pointed out how every other developed country guarantees its citizens health care, and the only reason we don't is so corporations can rake in the profits.
I don't talk politics at work but someone else pointed out that big corporations actually want government health care because it takes the health care line item off their budget books. But then Sultan said its all about health insurance companies and big pharma exploiting people for massive profits.
Someone else asked Sultan what would happen to doctors if we had universal health care, and if they would still be paid well, and if it would be worth it for younger people to go into the medical field and take on all that debt and years of education. Sultan said that people who go into the medical profession for the money are doing it for the wrong reasons. Sultan said that while doctors and such would still be paid good salaries, that he hopes most people would go into the medical profession because they want to help people, and for the greater good, and not because of the big pay checks. And then he said no one would take on any med school debt because college would be free as well.
When someone asked Sultan how this would be paid for, he went with the usual "tax the wealthy" line and said it would pay for itself because profit would be taken out of the equation for health care so prices would no longer be gouged and inflated so corporations can make massive profits.

People like Sultan make me cringe at their stupidity. He knows virtually nothing about this subject. I feel bad for you having to listen to him.

So the rich people cant make crazy profits anymore, then there's no rich people to tax.

Unfortunately I work in a field that is known to be pretty left wing, and most people I work with are liberals. Combine that with the fact I live in California and I am sure there are not many conservatives in the building.
Sadly, these people are allowed to spew their politics every day at work with no reprecussions, but I wonder what would happen if somebody did the same soapboxing but from a conservative or pro-Trump point of view.
One of my hardline policies in life is to never discuss politics or religion at work so its not going to be me.

Have you ever met anyone named Tom, Bob, Charles, George or any other common name? Also, is Sultan’s last name Swing, in honor of the the Dire Straits song Sultans of Swing?

Government healthcare to paying customers began in Australia in 1976. Free government Medicare that everyone had went into effect in 1984. I lived in Oz from 2000-2005, so 16 years after Medicate started. While I was there, I had to go through several GP's because they kept getting out of the profession, retiring early, etc. One just said that it wasn't worth it anymore. Long hours, mountains of paperwork, getting paid late all of the time from the government, crap pay, etc. It was also about this time that cutbacks in services really kicked in. Overall, I would give Aussie healthcare at that time a low C score. God only knows what it is like now.

Is Sultan a “peace loving Muslim “?

Dire Straits' vocalist/guitarist is actually named Mark Knopfler. Cool name.

No, it's Squat, as in the Sultan of Squat (with apologies to the Sultan of Swat, Babe Ruth).

He’s more accurately about 40% of the way there.
His solutions are moronic

Do you work with a ten year old? Because that's how these comments read.
