I did see at least one person make the claim he was the best DB we've ever had since Casanova

That person has a room temperature IQ.

lets not forget that Greedy played in our system this year which had LITTLE TO NO pass rush. The loss of Chaisson was huge and absolutely effects DB play.

That's laughable.

I think it is more to do with the large class of D Line and LBs. Looking at mock drafts and team needs, you can’t argue with who is ahead of him. Most mocks i have seen have him as #1 CB. So, it may be more about position than player. We really won’t know until the draft

Maybe first clue should have been him sitting out a NY6 bowl leaving his team depleted. Dude has been on cruise control since being hyped as a top pick

Just really odd that not even 4 months ago people hailed him as the best CB LSU has ever had. Amazing how fast things happen.

Bruh, that was before Stingley got to campus.

Questionable lateral movement and not a great combine.

Because other players are "rising". Happens every year.

Deion Sanders says hello. His job will be to keep a receiver from catching the ball, which he excels at.

He was never a top 20.

Really? Here's 4 different mock drafts that he was projected top 10. All the ESPN and NFL Network guys had him in the top 10 back in January.

Probably changing his name to wikliams as you noted in title probably hurt.

Why is Greedy Williams dropping in draft projections?

1) He's not dropping. Other players are rising. Big men are a premium, so when you have a high number of DTs with pass rush ability, quality edge rushers, OTs and OGs that can move and good QBs, the other positions get moved down a bit.

2) It's draft season, so everything about a player gets nitpicked and every little thing gets blown out of proportion. People are repeating that Greedy isn't a strong tackler because he's above board in every other facet of what to look for in a lockdown CB.

3) Do not confuse media mock drafts with the projections of actual NFL scouts. The media guys might have an idea, but they do not see the draft boards of these other teams except for a golden few on the day of the draft.

Being too skinny is the only real knock IMO. Under no circumstances should he drop out of top 20, though.

And Still locked down half the field! The reason he’s dropping is tackling issues, they don’t think he is physical enough. Another theory is people comparing him to Mo Claiborne, how he was a high first round pick and flamed out in Dallas. They failed to look at the bigger picture that that Dallas played zone defense and not man-to-man which Claiborne was a lockdown man-to-man corner

The NFL is a business wrapped around team sports. He proved he is talented, but there are 3 people you can mention in the same breath this yr, so why would you take the one that's not really a TEAM player over the others? Skipping out on the bowl was a bad business decision.
