My Hot Take re Jussie’s charges being dropped.

An individual or individuals with notoriety have exposure on the Smollet incident.
There is no way in hell that the SAO would do something this crazily nonsensical and face this firestorm unless there was some serious skin in the game by people with stroke.
Someone with a big name was gonna have their balls in a vice over this if it went down the road into discovery/trial or Jussie giving them up for a plea.
The only way to protect from that was a clean walk for Jussie.
Now, they are just playing the odds that Trump’s DOJ will be apprehensive about going after a gay, black man from the Fed side.

Considering that Jussie faked a terrorist attack through the mail with his fake anthrax letter, I think the US Attorney will be more than willing to take on this case.

Strongly disagree. If you seriously want to protect bigger names, you have Jussie plea to lesser charges, get a slap on the wrist and a fine. People wouldn’t be happy but there wouldn’t be a firestorm. Unilaterally dismissing everything protects no one because you create an immense amount of outrage. Everyone from the mayor to the police chief is gunning for Foxx now.

My favorite comment on this was on Facebook from one of those super racist black people I know. They said they’re happy it got dropped, and that they thought it was horrifying that he had been vilified by the media before the case had been fully investigated. So I asked him if he was talking about Trump. Instantly unfriended. I don’t get it.

its well known that micheal obama is best buddies with jussie so him and barry called their buddy rhom to fix it, then rhom goes on TV and moans about it being dropped even though he was the one pulling strings to get it dropped.

The fact that he has community service and forfeiting his $100,000 bond (10% so $10,000) it's a settlement agreement. judge sealed the case, which means she sealed the plea agreement. nothing to seal if case is just dropped

You know, it wouldn't have been a bad plan for Jussie to give an emotional speech introducing his "aunt" at the DNC after recovering from his attack by Trump supporters. I wonder who could have thought of such a diabolical plan? Probably Trump right?

Great take and accurate. DOJ has bigger fish to fry. Don't need this to get to Kamala, Barry and Booker... they're so dirty and there's already so much recorded on them by the NSA, it makes this case seem really stupid.
