How was ole’ Paul’s talent evaluation so far off with Reid?

Dude has the 3rd highest batting average on the team and Paul cut his arse during the summer only to have Reid to come back and light it up... PM has some explaining to do lmao

Paul has owned up to his mistake and rectified it. Chris has forgiven the mistake and moved past it.
Literally the only people who can’t get over it are idiots on tigerdroppings

Maybe he was overplaying his hand on the kids that came in more than he was off on Reid. I think Paul expected some of the new guys to be able to catch on a little faster and it just hasn't happened. He had to make room somehow. It was a gamble and had another spot not become available, CPM would have lost that gamble.

Decent hitter, but slow between pads? Glad it worked out for both involved, and move on.

I heard on the radio it had more to do with Reid not wanting to put in the work and overall not being very likeable. I dont know how true that is though, just what I heard.

Reid was always liked by the fans. Seemed like a hard worker and team player.
Another radio personality talking out of his arse. What’s new

The radio host (AFR cough cough) states that someone had interviewed former teammates like Kramer Robertson. All said he was out of shape, routinely late to practice, and a douche that no one else really liked. No word about fans not liking him.

Paul was reading the rant and became convinced that current players who hit less than .500 were trash, and all new recruits were the next coming of Ted Williams.
Someone took away his iPad, he came to his senses, and he gave Reid a call.

How was his talent evaluation for Austin Bain so far off with him as a hitter? Maybe Mainieri should have seen that and played him as a hitter Bain’s freshman year instead of his senior year.

Nothing difficult at all to understand. There are roster limits, just like football. Football has to trim the roster to make room for the incoming class, and baseball had to do the same.
Labas had surgery and was out for the year, so a spot oppened. It's as simple as that. You don't cut Labas or a freshman. Nice story for Reid, but no one could predict it, just like Bain last year.

Article in The Advocate or NOLA said the same thing about Reid, can't remember which. He even admitted to being lazy. He turned it around when given another chance, but no one could have predicted that.

Not retarded or a troll. I heard the same thing on the radio. Said he didn't work that hard in practice and didn't work on his body. I don't remember anything about not being liked by his teammates though.

Oh? Or maybe it was really just literally said on the radio? Why don't you open your mind a little bit and stop parroting other people's thoughts on Tigerdroppings, dick.

Paul has been having brain farts really has not been well . Chris on the other hand has been to the crossroads on US 61 in Scoatlandville and made a deal with Jesus to be an All American.

Thats bullshite. Reid didnt come out of nowhere. He hit .330 in sec play as a freshmen. He would show up late to practices and was out of shape. (Probably a big factor in the decision to release him) His fielding and hitting has improved slightly since then. But dont try to paint it like he was some .200 hitter that all of a sudden figured it out.

he is probably the slowest runner in the SEC, his batting average slumped to .267 last year in 60 ABs and he was a singles hitter with only 1 double last year
now his BA is .359, OBP is .519 and SLG% is .564, he has 5 doubles and a HR already in 39 ABs, still no stolen bases - he is the MVP of the team at this point
blame it on the coach, blame it on the player, whatever, just don't look a gift horse in the mouth, celebrate it
seems to be more a testament to the coach's decision making, rather than a detriment

I’ve honestly never been a huge Reid fan. Obviously he’s having a great season and is the reason we’ve one some of the games we have.
But do baseball players really need to be in that great of shape? All you have to do is run 90 feet.

This is what I think as well. Number 1 recruiting class in America and you have to grab a guy off the IntraMural basketball court to hit in the middle of your lineup? Somewhere somebody missed an evaluation or three OR we are not good at on boarding young players
