And Calipari reportedly has “serious interest” in the gig.
Leaving for another college job would be a hard pill for Big Blue Nation to follow. UCLA is one of the only programs in college that can compete with the history of Kentucky Basketball, and it is reported that Los Angeles life is something that has always tempted Coach Cal.

I could see Cal leaving for the Lakers instead.

If Calipari is seriously considering this, then Kentucky is about to be put on probation. Probation, not money or opportunity, is the reason Calipari will bolt from Kentucky

I don't think he leaves. That said, UCLA would probably be enticing.
Cal's a flashy guy and there's no place more flashy than LA. But more than that, UCLA probably offers him the opportunity to win just as big as he has at UK, but without the craziness of the UK fanbase. In Lexington he lives in a bubble where he is under constant pressure to succeed at a very high level AND be the most famous person in the city. In LA, he could win and still retain some semblance of anonymity that isn't available in KY.
Again, I wouldn't say it's likely he leaves. But if I'm a UK fan this is one of those jobs that at least gives me a pause for concern

I heard UCLA will pay 8 million and the other 2 million will come from Aunt Becky in exchange for admittance to the university and a walk on spot for her kids.

His agent is trying to pull a Jimmy Sexton.

I think this is more about Cal being able to get a raise at UK. UCLA is one program where it doesn't sound silly for him to consider unless UK backs up the dump truck of cash.

If this happens, Will Wade will end up at Kentucky

I'd take it if i was him. He can get top kids in CA, and around the Country to go there. UCLA sill has the mystique

I’m far more worried about this option, especially with them hunting Davis. But I don’t know that he’s more than a flashy name for an NBA coaching search and seriously considered after his last NBA stint.

1 championship in 10 years. Not overly impressive with the talent he's had. Though he does have 4 FFs in that time.

Yep just trying to get a raise

Calipari may have been involved in the school fraud scandal

nah
He flopped in New Jersey. NETS best player died in a traffic accident.
Team sucked after that.
similar to what happened to Saban. Williams chose pot and acupuncture.
You used to not be able to recruit a new team in the pros.
You were stuck.
I doubt he would do it again.
UCLA makes sense.
Kentucky will get Will Wade.

UCLA hasn’t been shite since the 70s when they were doing the UConn women basketball business.
