I mean at this point, they may as well fire Mainieri too. Why not? They already fricked with and ruined both football and basketball. Why stop there? Mens golf coach too. We can't have decent athletics programs at LSU. At least, not according to them.

The only thing that makes sense at this point is King knows he’s a lame duck and thinks being Mr “I’m an intellectual and university is for education not ball/I’m shocked by allegations of cash to players” is the better play for his future job prospects.

Anyone that cares about LSU at all would have reinstated Wade by now or at the very least made a decision and articulated it clearly to the team and supporters. The silent treatment for fans and team is insane for anyone that wants to be at LSU.

It's time for football donors and season ticket holders to start flexing some muscle

I darn sure wouldn't. They have, in effect, assassinated his character.

The silent treatment
is about par for the course with these dipshits. They don't know how to handle conflict resolution. As long as everything is lined out and going their way, they only look like they know what they're doing. When any little thing pops up where they have to stand up and be leaders, they turn retarded.

I know people are upset now and morale among the fan base feels at an all-time low.

What I’m worried about is when September rolls around and people will get excited about football keeping the coffers full and thus keeping Alleva and King around because money is flowing.

Hopefully Lipsey can flex a little more before then.

Alleva and King are going nowhere...fact is, the only individual that I have heard of any credible wrongdoing is Wade. The premise that Alleva and King should have done anything to cover up this bullhshit is ridiculous, IMO.

How would they have covered anything up? There’s still no hard evidence other than him saying “strong arse offer” on the phone and it was made public.

They’ll get fired because of how they handled the situation in arguably the worst possible way, causing an uproar for all of LSU and it’s fan base and showing that yet again they have no leadership abilities. Not to mention they pissed off all the boosters and donors yet again who have already been fed up with their lack of leadership and ability to grow a pair and not get pushed around by people who should not be making these decisions.

a credible source

LOL

Don't come here for credible sources. Come here for the melodrama, the comedy, the pettiness, anger and sometimes celebration which then devolves into pissing contests. There are other notable attributes of The Rant but credible sources is not one of them.

Covering what up? An interpretation of a very vague conversation by some two bit Yahoo sports writer? Wow. Got 'em!

You just described every single sports fan message board. And by the way (to your point), no credible source is going to come out and announce to the public who he is and what exactly is going on in the inner workings of an athletic department.

Alleva has a long list of huge frick ups. Don’t play dumb.

As for F. King, the school is fighting off scandal after scandal in the NON-ATHLETIC parts of the university. From the Greek system debacles to the latest bullshite of employees being paid $400k extra for work they never completed. There is plenty of reason to kick F. King’s arse out of this state.

Not necessarily talking about this board. Just any credible source in general on all social media or media outlets. The silence is frickin killing me. A linked post from a credible source is what I’m looking for. Not some joe blow who heard something from their mailman.

Very true.

No shite. Still, folks drool and fawn over posts all the time from purported "insiders" who are "credible sources." "Believe half of what you see and none of what you hear." Similar logic applies double or triple to social media and forums.

there is no leadership at LSU and the athletic dept, from AD, PR, to general counsel is a perpetual public embarrassment waiting to happen.

LSU has had some real PR disasters recently, and it's as if they never learn from previous mistakes. PR 101 is always tell your own story and not let outside forces drive the narrative. LSU on the other hand seemingly lets outside forces drive the narrative from the jump and never tells their own story.

I can't disagree if Alleva and King stay at LSU, but if Wade is cleared, they 100% need to be gone so LSU can hire a president and AD who can rebuild that relationship with Wade before he bolts.

I agree that Alleva and FKing need to be dismissed. However, if you think that high-level administrators at LSU would lose their job over a measly basketball coach, you are kidding yourself. It would never happen.....basketball is just not that important to all levels of the upper administration (and JBE too), regardless of what they say in public.

LSU is on scandal #4 in just the past year or so. Eventually F. King has to be held accountable.

Name one thing they have done right, PR related.
