Name one thing they have done right, PR related.

Not much in the area of Athletics. However, there are many academic accolades from both faculty and students that are being touted each and every day by the LSU PR department.

I think that’s been obvious from day 1.

The faculty hates Alexander and what he’s doing to change the admissions requirements is going to hurt the school bigtime.

2 weeks and not an inch of progress. Honestly has anyone ever seen anything like this before?
That's ok.

LSU admin should've moved slower to start with and not have been reacting to an unverified & lawyer-leaked report. The suspension of Wade I understand as part of that reaction. But to follow that up with the LSU prompted statements/stories in various outlets, local and nationwide, was petty, reactionary, not constructive, and made them look overly scared.

I'll pose it this way: IF it is true you are reacting ONLY to the possibility/prevention of a LOIC, then just suspend him and say ONLY "in the interest of preserving the integrity of _________, we have suspended our head coach and will have further actions if warranted; we will comment further with there are facts to comment on" and leave it at that. But no, they waged their own MAD (mutually assured destruction) press campaign, on one of their own, who has the information they need, who is the KEY to an LOIC avoidance, in the press, in reaction to the press. I mean the only thing worse they could've done was have Alleva and FKA give a joint interview on ESPN.

But, back to my point... taking time here is ok. The die was cast and there's no going back on Wade's suspension. THIS TIME let the facts come out and wait for a time when Wade is indeed free(er) to speak without personal legal liabilities. THEN you can go after the admin.

It will be so easy: Corroboration to that yahoo story never emerges from the trial (a real possibility). Our admin reacted to that press & optics (see above) and it dies on the vine. You can then pounce on them for that; especially Alleva because you now have a pattern (Duke lacrosse) of reacting to optics and not facts and failing to get those facts.

But time will have to pass for that corroboration not to emerge. You can't say "no facts" too soon.

PLUS- at least Alleva and some on the BoS, the more time you give them the more shite they pile on themselves. When your enemy is making a mistake, don't stop them.

The "untold story" about changing academic requirements is a big one. FKing removed most of the scholarships for high achieving out of state students a few years ago. This put LSU on track to be a "more Louisiana" school. However, without out of state student, LSU enrollment was declining because not enough Louisiana students could meet the admission standards. So....the solution....lower the admission standards!!!! Brilliant!!!!
