Tathan or Chad, which is the worse name?

I'd have to say Tathan because it is not a real name.

This means free agency

I wouldn't say it's free agency just yet. I think they'll approve all players who's head coaches have left the program. We'll see how they handle Aubrey Solomons waiver request. Harbaugh and Don Brown didn't leave, so it'll be interesting to see if they approve his or not.

He left because of Fields, everybody knows that

Saw the question on Pg 1 and thought "Syracuse" right away. Clicked to Pg 2.

Obviously, but he used Meyer leaving as a reason for his request.

His comments during/after the Rose Bowl were pissing me off, but also indicated he didn't want Fields there for the competition. Him saying "the job is mine to lose" then transferring one month later was kind of odd. Should have just stayed the company line and said he was going to compete with anyone and see where the chips fell.

I wish him well this season; he is a competitive kid who saw what was going to happen to his opportunity and he got out. He had 0% of being the starting QB no matter what he said publicly

Fields isn't good enough to transfer out when he showed up.

He doesn't fit Day's scheme.

It was pretty clear.

We also have a redshirt freshman pro style QB that may have even beaten Tathan out this year.

But pretty unreal situation for him to get a hardship waiver. Every kid who transfers when a coach leaves should get a hardship now, even though the ONLY reason he left is because he didn’t want to compete with Justin Fields.

Zero issue with it. Coaches can leave whenever, and this is just shovel of dirt on the ncaa grave

Well that's quite different than transferring because of some fear of Fields.

He didn't do anything at UGA that would justify that kind of reaction. He may live up to the hype, but you don't leave when he gets on campus.

Day probably played it straight with him.

He(his father) would have been a cancer if he rode the pine.

If Urban was coach, I bet Tathan beats out Fields.

Martell seemed like a complete douchebag that would’ve been a cancer whether he started or not.

Furthermore, both of these guys (Fields and Martell) seem like douchebags.

Is anyone else irrationally triggered that his parents named him Tathan? I mean from the start, did he ever have a chance of NOT being a total douche bag? And that’s not even considering what very limited info I know about his dad

The MSB was pretty rustled about that in another thread when he hit the transfer portal.

I disagree a bit with both you guys, i think he absolutely left the second Fields got there. Fields hasn't proven it in college yet (not given so many opportunities) but he was a top 10 recruit all time on 247, and was in the same exact breath as lawrence coming into school. Tate Martell has a weaker arm, 5'' shorter and similar athletic ability to Fields.
