Aliyah Andrews came all the way around from first on a double hit by Amanda Sanchez. Beth Torina tried to put the brakes on her at third but Aliyah ran through it. Torina's reaction is pretty funny.

It was probably a good call by Beth to tell her to hold up, a slightly better throw and she is out. But sometimes it's just worth forcing the throw to home for that reason.

Torina did 100% the right thing telling her to stop
The player did the right thing since she was able to score But damn, she is lucky she did

How funny would it have been if she was out at the plate?

Those who follow softball pretty closely know that Torina is SUPER aggressive with her base-running....she almost always forces the issue. Most of the time it works, sometimes it doesn't. That is why I was shocked that the thought of holding Andrews at 3rd even crossed her mind, even though it was probably the "proper" strategic move with one out in the inning.
The way LSU's mentality typically is on the bases, I am sure Andrews never had a second thought about trying to score from the moment that ball landed. And she was hauling arse so fast that if she had thrown on the brakes and tried to stop at 3rd, she probably would have ended up in the Florida dugout

A funny clip if you can find it is Auburn softball coach Mickey Dean trying to hold up a runner at third Hr is running alongside of her saying Stop What are you doing?! She kept going and ended up getting tagged out by a country mile at home plate.

I don’t think she purposely ignored the stop sign. Beth pretty hard on sending her then threw up the stop sign late. I think by the time Andrews saw it she realized it was too late to stop.

I love Coach Beth but it's a bit hard for the runner to stop when you're yelling GO at first, then suddenly decide to stop her as she's already well past 3rd.
