The President is apathetic and the Athletics Director is incompetent.
There's no leadership. Zero. None.
Exactly. Alleva could get out in front of this but he is too much of a pussy. Just like leaving your head football coach drifting in the wind with fricking games left to play.

The LSU compliance dept works under, not above, the LSU athletic director and president. They shouldn't be able to dictate the terms of any meeting that was to take place, only to state their opinion. I have a feeling there is more to this story than is being reported, if any of it has merit

So basically he just lost all credibility from here on out
He hasn't altered the original post.
The update was that a second source contradicted the report that Segar is involved.
I don't know if either are credible, but the Hayride has had better coverage of the Wade fiasco than any other news outlet.
Just clean house and start from scratch. Sure, there will be some collateral damage.
That said, the current culture must be abolished and that means getting rid of anyone who might carry it over under a new administration.

I wonder how bad Wade just wants to say frick it and resign
Wade has 10 million reasons not to do this. It sucks, but he knows he can't walk away from that money willingly for the sake of the people who depend on him (his family)

The AD has EVERY RIGHT as the head of the athletic department to decide when and where he will meet with Wade and if anyone else will be allowed in the room. What am I missing?
Probably that the AD wants those people present also

Compliance doesn’t run the university. I would think that either Alexander or Alleva could tell compliance to shut the frick up.

I'm sorry if this is a stupid question and idk if it has been asked yet, but...IF this isn't an NCAA investigation, and CWW hasn't been charged, merely subpoenaed as a witness, then WHY THE FRICK does LSU and the compliance office insist on having the NCAA at the meeting between LSU and CWW?!
Can't this just be a meeting between Joe and Coach Wade with Coach Wade's attorney there because he is legally obligated to be there when discussing case materials?!
Also, how can Bruce Pearl ignore and stay away from questions forever and still coach but Will Wade cant'!?
I'll hang up and listen.

LSU is scared to death of getting the dreaded “lack of institutional control” penalty.
Whatever happened with the basketball program has happened and is done with, so lack of institutional control essentially means they're all trying to keep their jobs at the expense of Wade

I always felt like the compliance department should function more like in-house council than the first line of the NCAA army. Inform/remind the school where the line is, notify them when they may be getting too close, then protect them from harm (from the NCAA). The school is the client, so don't work against the client's best interest.
That's how they work, in theory.
In practice, LSU has a compliance department that acts like a CPA who errs on the side of the IRS, while other schools have a CPA who is actively trying to deduct your friend's bachelor party at the Gold Club as a business expense.

This was a set up by someone within the LSU hierarchy. There is no good reason for WW to meet with F King, Aleva, and the NCAA prior to his testimony in April. He can't discuss what his testimony would be nor should he discuss anything related to or on the peripheral of the investigation.
If King and Aleva were up the strait up, they would have waited until after his testimony before meeting with WW. Is some other university behind this entire fiasco? Something stinks!

LSU should start from scratch and hire a compliance director from a major healthcare company and allow actual professionals to install a culture in compliance that is mutually beneficial.
yeah, if I'm LSU I hire someone with extensive experience as in-house counsel for a major company, you know someone with compliance legal expertise and not simply a former college athlete who has worked in the athletic department her entire adult life.

Why in the hell can will wade and Joe Alleva and f King just meet without telling compliance department. frick them and hope they all choke on a dick.
Looks like by inviting compliance, and NCAA, Joe, and F'king are only trying to cover their asses in this whole matter. They want someone else (NCAA or Compliance) to say "yes" or "no" neither Joe or F'king have the balls to stand on their own 2 feet.

Imagine if your attorney would only meet with you if police were present.
You’re basically trying to frick your client. This is the LSU Administration.

2ND EDIT: Source at LSU says Miriam Segar had nothing to do with the false start this morning and that they're still working on a meeting. No word yet on how late Wade could be reinstated and still coach on Thursday.
Basically they had no idea there would be this much backlash & are going in circles as to who to blame for the situation not being resolved
It’s simple - who made the phone call to the NCAA?
