what's the going draft capital rate on an edge guy with a bum shoulder needing surgery and a massive salary desire?

I think we would take a late first, early 2nd.
If he walks on a withdrawn tag we would only get a 3rd, tops, for compensation assuming he signs.

you won't get a 1st for some guy with a bum shoulder who wants to be Mack rich

Boys already traded for Quinn. They should trade Lawrence for a 2nd round pick in 2020, sign Ziggy Ansah and Suh on short deals with the money we get back from Lawrence to be his short term replacements as far as production goes and then draft the long term guy in 2020

I'd imagine potentially Dallas could get a 1st or 2nd round pick in the 2020 draft from a team who's looking to contend or make the playoffs but with a need for a pass rusher. As crazy as it sounds 20M a year isn't totally ridiculous for an elite pass rusher even though I'd rather they trade the man.

Wouldn’t shock me if a team like Indy, who had like $100 mil in cap space, traded their late first, or two of their three 2nd rounders.
Wishful thinking though. I would assume nobody is listening to any calls from Dallas.

The #Raiders have reached an agreement with LB Brandon Marshall on a one year deal worth up to $4.1m, source said. Key defensive help.

The Dolphins have already added an extra 4th, 6th and 7th round pick in 2020. Wisely playing the long game to build this roster for sustained success. Respect for the duo of GM Chris Grier and HC Brian Flores.

Damn Brandon Marshall was a FA? Pats should’ve been all over that

Play has really slipped and injuries set in.
He tried to take a pay cut to stay in Denver and they wouldn’t.
One of my favorite players.

And this is why I didn't care saints gave up the 2019 1st to move up for a defensive end.
The value of a good pass rusher on a rookie deal is only surpassed by a nfl starting qb.

Lawrence has battled injuries, and doesn’t have the career numbers when compared to someone like K. Mack. They are similar size, play play a similar position, and both were part of the 2014 draft. No way should he get a contract in Mack’s range.
Lawrence’s reps will argue he hasn’t missed a game in the last 2 seasons despite a labrum injury. His stats are better than Mack’s over that span. Advanced stats show he’s more disruptive than Mack, faces more double teams, and doesn’t have as much pass rush support from his teammates as Mack.
The Cowboys tagged Lawrence after a breakout 2017 season, and told him they wanted him to prove that season wasn’t a fluke. They wanted him to continue to stay on the field and repeat his production in 2018. His sack totals were down a little, but overall 2018 was another great season.
Cowboys aren’t going to pay him elite money, but Lawrence is starting to play at an elite level.

All y’all need now is a QB

That’s assuming Howard gets a big contract somewhere else (without the eagles replacing that type of contract in FA) which I can’t really see him breaking the bank given the position and his struggles in the passing game.

Indy isn’t about to blow their draft capital on a guy likely to decline fast wanting big time edge money.
Posted on 3/29/19 at 3:39 pm to Chad504boy
Why does that make it dumb?
