When I become dictator

When I become dictator businesses that charge fees are going to really pay. The owners of that business will be waterboarded and beaten to a coma.
I'm sick of trying to rent ANYTHING...cars, cabins, etc., that seem to offer a decent price and then quickly goes away after all the fees are attached. That's going to end when I take over.
Here you go, we are renting our house that happens to be in a nice neighborhood. It's two stories and 2600 sq. ft. with 4 bedrooms two and a half baths. The rent for our house is $25 a month. That's right. You read it correctly, $25 a month.
There is however a $50 opening the front and back door fee. A $48 turning on lights fee. $100 flushing the toilets fee. $150 using the refrigerator fee. $200 watching tv fee.
$178 sitting down to eat breakfast, lunch, dinner, snack fee. $300 sleeping in the bed fee. $250 sleeping on the floor fee. $198 roof protection fee. $55 looking out the window fee.....If looking out the window more than six times a day that fee will drop to $45.
$68 having people over fee. $78 using the trash in the house fee. $67 talking in the house fee. No fee for laughing.
$57 breathing the air in the house fee. Talking on your phone or cellphone in the house or anywhere on the property is a $245 fee.
Calling me to rent the house is a $15 fee. I also charge a $10 hanging up the phone fee.
Having sex in the house is not allowed.

You realize most of those are taxes right?

So you're mad about cleaning fees?

I think the complaint is the escalation from advertised price. When I travel, I enjoy seeing a price on an item or menu and knowing that’s what I have to pay at the end of the transaction. Itemize the taxes and fees on the receipt, but just tell me what this is going to cost.

No they aren't.
There may be hotel taxes but that's never what the fees are.
You usually have a cleaning fee and sometimes a resort fee. Then a parking fee and sometimes a deposit.
You have to be really careful when doing AIR bnb, look at the final price to compare not the advertised daily price.

I just got round trip tickets to new York on United for $129.
The price said "after fees and taxes" well if you want a carryon, that's extra, even more to check luggage.
Then you have to pay to pick seats.
Deciding I want the cheap price, I'm going to go to new York without luggage and just buy extra clothes at the 2 for $20 store.

I don't disagree, just pouting out a lot of those fees aren't up to the business owners.

we'll give this $800 dollar phone for $50. Sign here saying you'll pay $50 activation fee, $80 monthly fee for 5 years. If you choose to cancel, we'll take your liver.

You’re going to need to request a new screen name if you want to be a dictator.

This is one helluva melt.
Fees are a little ridiculous, but you are paying for that convenience. Stubhub, air bnb, etc.

I'll do you one better.
When I'm dictator
- You will not have to "veer off" to avoid someone with their head buried in their phone (even if you're running); any damage to phone or said person with head buried is the fault of the offender
- Anyone wearing a large full backpack on a crowded train shall be pulled down by said backpack and laughed at by the train's inhabitants
- Anyone caught using a robodialer shall be put to death
- People caught chewing with their mouths open in public shall have their jaws wired shut for a period of 6 months
I have more, but these are the first four pillars of my platform.
