Yeah, I figured it would have standard legs. Let's give it a 2.6 multiplier (about avg for MCU films) and we're looking at a finish of about $407 million, domestically. WW is still going strong.

Um...yes? I'm actually looking forward to your rebuttal. Tell me how Garbage and Hole are iconic 90s bands.

I'm way late on this response but think about why these bands would be used. I bet you can guess if you try real hard.

I don't have to guess. They used subpar girl groups from the 90s because they were trying to create a 90s girl rock soundtrack instead of a good 90s soundtrack. I would have thought my leading questions would have made it obvious that I recognized what they were doing.

Garbage and No Doubt are by no means "subpar". "Only happy when it rains" was an absolute banger and Gwen Stefani is a giant fricking superstar. Hole sucks except for one song, and guess which song they used?

I swear some of you folks are fragile as frick

Well, there were several issues with the music, but neither of these bands were subpar.

For starters, I'm almost certain the movie takes place in June or July of 1995. I remember seeing at least one calendar in view with that on it. that's KIND OF an issue for several songs used, because they were released after then. Both of those used were later that fall.

The biggest song problem was the best song used, and that was when they inserted Nirvana in the end when she's talking to the Supreme Intelligence. We were told that it draws on her subconscious and memories, but Carol wasn't even on Earth when Come As You Are was released. She'd have had no memory of that song as she'd have never heard it...unless she heard it on the radio in 1995 on her trip back home.

And yes...this is nitpicky, but I was working at a music store that year and remember these album released and kind of wondered about them when they were played.

Oh...there was also a Melon Collie and the infinite Sadness poster up somewhere. Wasn't released until that Fall as well...though I guess they could claim it was a promotional or something...

They should have been using mid to late 80s songs for the movie. That was the last time she was on earth before being kidnapped. If you wanted to used 90s songs for the soundtrack, then have some playing from the jukebox or on the radio.

It's not a good 90s-era soundtrack. Full stop.

The only two times they used the music properly. Heck they had a couple of songs on the soundtrack from after 1995.

We're also talking about a fictional universe where Thor and Loki are real. This is a stupid detail to nitpick.

Which one besides Celebrity Skin (Which played over the end credits and not in the context of the movie)?

Just a Girl didn’t chart until mid December of 95. Barely a ‘95 song at all.

It was written in the early 90's and is a song they performed prior to 1995. Stop talking out of your arse.

Who gives a shite. Movie soundtracks aren't about what "charted."

You said something stupid. I called you on it. Deal with it.
