It’s bad in North La.

Cooked is $6-$8.

Went out today looking for live to boil myself.

Damn near $100 for a sack of live and anyone willing to sell by the pound live wants $5.

Worst I’ve seen in years.

$100 per sack is less than $3/lb. That's pretty normal for this part of the season, and actually cheaper than last year.

That's why you don't live in North La.

well an average sack (assuming its a tightly packed sack) is 40 lbs, and 30 lbs if its a soft loose packed sack

so if its only $2 a pound live thats gonna run you $80 so its cheaper to buy steak

if you can find a 40 lbs sack live for $80 then its a good deal

For every 10 pounds of crawfish you buy, you yield 1 pound of meat.

1 fricking pound...., let that sink in.

Will get downvoted to oblivion but Alexandria has some surprisingly good crawfish. So just come a little further south.

No more Chinese crawfish are flooding the restaurant/grocery store markets mostly due to the tariffs. Lots more local crawfish are taking their places in restaurants and markets and therefore less to go around to me and you directly. Get used to these prices.

Get the crawfish app if someone hasn’t already suggested that. Yesterday it was $4.99 at rouses in Lafayette.

We wanted it at a restaurant and were in br. Walkons on Burbank was doing 3 lbs. for $20. Definitely not the best price but we just wanted a little fix. Wait till after lent it’ll go down. Just like every single year.

I got it for $3.49/lb a few weeks ago for my wife after Valentine’s Day, but i live near Gonzales. I’m about to go set out some traps and just run them for me and my family before i pay that again though.
