well an average sack (assuming its a tightly packed sack) is 40 lbs, and 30 lbs if its a soft loose packed sack

so if its only $2 a pound live thats gonna run you $80 so its cheaper to buy steak

if you can find a 40 lbs sack live for $80 then its a good deal

For every 10 pounds of crawfish you buy, you yield 1 pound of meat.

1 fricking pound...., let that sink in.

horseshite.

That place is great if you are into paying $2 more a pound than anywhere in the region and want half of it to be loose claws and grass.

Their etouffee over crab cakes is legit, though.

Will get downvoted to oblivion but Alexandria has some surprisingly good crawfish. So just come a little further south.

I love that app but they only update it on Fridays. I drove out to place near Spring on Thursday and they were out of crawfish.

Bro, there is a pop up window after you search that tells you to call ahead to verify price and availability.

Don’t blame the app because you don’t pay attention.

No more Chinese crawfish are flooding the restaurant/grocery store markets mostly due to the tariffs. Lots more local crawfish are taking their places in restaurants and markets and therefore less to go around to me and you directly. Get used to these prices.

Yes Laffy with the Seasoning in the ice chest is how you cook crawfish

Not sure any body does that anymore, and I’m not sure many people ever did outside of restaurants. The whole point of that was a way for restaurants to cook with the water seasoned as mild and then add seasoning for people who wanted it spicier. I always hated that. I grew up in Lafayette Parish and we never boiled that way. Didn’t see that until sometime in the 90s.

And they always used the term steamed , if I recall correctly, because they used less water. I hated that crap.

You add the liquid at after cutting the fire. That liquid evaporates out. Maybe be bullshite like other crawfish tales. But I add powder seasoning at beginning. Pour in some liquid at end to kick it up a notch

Better to just buy shrimp. Honestly.
$10 / lb shrimp > $7 / lb of crawfish.
