A comment in another thread piqued my curiosity abt this narrative. Serious question - what is the con job he's attempting to pull off? What's the big payoff at the end making all the stress of presidency worth it?

It’s about ego and bolstering his brand image.
Heplans on making bank after he leaves office. He cons his supporters with bullshite rhetoric on a daily basis.

He was so lacking in ego and brand image that he felt he needed to go to these lengths? Not very convincing.

You realize you were talking about a BILLIONAIRE right?

FFS do you people understand the difference between a millionaire and a billionaire?

This is a fricking RETARDED angle.

Absolutely retarded.

Yeah, a BILLIONAIRE is going to take this level of constant abuse....for 4-8 years.... to make more money?

You people....ffs, just clueless.... and poor. Obviously poor.

According to (some) rumor he really wasn't in to win.

He wanted to gain respectability and popularity in a quest to enhance brand name and thereby increase his market share.

This cracks me up.

The Pols you supported your entire life are only wealthy because they got into politics, then robbed the people.

Since Trump took office, his net worth has decreased. Trump isn't doing this for brand recognition at all. He doesn't need to.

You really have lost it, and it is hilarious to watch.

by immediately getting half of the country to hate him? Brilliant. Though I guess if he didn’t want to win, it proved he didn’t collide with Russia.

The answer is simple, but it's not "a con man narrative' type of answer.

He's lived a brilliant, rich, privileged life rubbing shoulders with every great persona in his lifetime and realizes the end is near and he's accomplished everything a man could do during his lifetime other than making sure he's remembered and written about in every history book in the US.

That's why he's on such an aggressive mission, he wants to always be in the conversation for best presidents in our countries history.

He's a very devout patriot and deserves the respect politically. He's a man on fire.

So go ahead and burn a good bit of your own money in hopes you lose but maybe get some return on it in the future. Only the left. And I dont think this is your own belief. Understood.

TDS’ers would have you somehow believe he takes all this abuse just for money, even though according to Forbes, his net worth has dropped significantly since taking office. Never mind how filthy rich the clintons have gotten doing absolutely nothing but being politicians, nor ever questioning how Obama went from being worth a low 6 figures to tens of millions. Unlike them, he truly wants to MAGA.

I think you make some great points here. It's certainly possible to be a patriot and want to leave a monumental legacy at the same time. They go hand in hand.

Every single president has a huge ego.

Every single elected official does this as well.

Find a politician who doesn’t spout bullshite. I’ll wait.

What better way to leave a legacy? What else would he have to do to live the perfect life? What else can he do to leave a better legacy than saving the country from socialism and the deep state and building it back stronger than before?

I completely don't agree with this but let's just say you are correct. ISDGAF because in the process he is doing some fantastic things for the country and also creating an environment that is exposing the MSM and Democrats for who they really are.

So if your BS assessment is somehow true, as long as he is MAGA then so what.
