Going there for two nights with family...Going to Husk the first night...will my teenage kids like this place?
Need another place for the second night...staying downtown. This is what a travel agent friend sent to me for places to check out for the trip:
Adele's -cool restaurant in a converted garage LINK
Monelle's (good southern home cooking) LINK
Martin's BBQ joint (several locations) LINK
Biscuit Love- the Gulch area and Hillsborough Village (I prefer this location) LINK
Pancake Pantry- a Nashville legend (across from Biscuit Love in Hillsborough) - there is usually a wait in line but it moves quickly. Worth the wait in my opinion.
Husk-LINK More modern southern cooking in a cute house
Hattie B's Hot Chicken (line gets long so get there early when it opens)-- fabulous fried chicken
LINK /
Margot Cafe LINK - French/Italian food in East Nashville
Fifth and Taylor- in Germantown LINK
Von Elrod's Beer Hall and Kitchen near Tennesse Park- large, family friendly German-style beer Hall
Any others to consider?

Biscuit Love for sure!
Add Edley's BBQ to your list to check out too.

I don't get the love for Biscuit Love. Lets start with the biscuit it self. The ala carte biscuit with jam is a small sweet type biscuit. Not the fluffy, "big rise" biscuits we are used to in the deep south. More of a small sweet drop biscuit. Their headlining East Nasty sandwich , fried chicken thigh white gravy, was ok but way too salty on my visit.
Hattie B's go with the medium. Personally, I prefer a good regular fried chicken over the nashville hot style.

Other than waiting in line outside, the most enjoyable breakfast I've ever had was at Biscuit Love. My wife and I ate at the one in Gulch. Wish we gone there every morning.

for brunch, the southern near broadway (downtown) is a good place to go.
for steaks, we liked sperry's in belle meade. kayne prime is also another good one, but i like the "old school" steak houses better. better vibe to me.
the pharmacy has a good burger and shake.
and lockeland table serves really good american type, neighborhood food. located in a residential area (east nashville), cool setting and vibe - farm to table type dishes. their chocolate chip skillet cookie with ice cream is delicious.

Etch was incredible when I went and if you're staying downtown it should be convenient for you. The hot chicken is a must try at some point, I had Bolton's and it was great but I'd imagine Hattie B's, Boltons or Princes are all good. Martin's BBQ joint is also a good lunch spot.
I'd add that I think City House is the most recent James Beard winner, it has great reviews but I've never been.

Cancel this reservation. Go to Butcher and Bee instead. I was extremely disappointed with Husk.

It’s no Tom Colicchio’s Craftsteak. That’s for sure.

Well hell Dear Leader, you asked for recs in Nashville so I was just giving mine. Frankly I didn't think anyone on here paid attention to my posts enough to really notice anything I've recommended in the past.
Honestly, the food was just ok. It's not that it was bad, it just wasn't anything great, and for ~$250 for two people I was just hoping for better than ok. I will say that the space is outstanding.
Maybe I caught them on a bad night, who knows. I hope y'all really enjoy it.

Seconded.
For hot chicken, I enjoyed Pepperfire. Five Points Pizza for a solid slice.
