overpaid. Hard for the capitalist in me to fault them for that. It's crazy that law enforcement there has the option to auction those guns
I didn't see any thing in the article about Benchmark getting paid.

absolutely despise the NRA. They're a fan of the funds they raise.
They're not perfect, but they only charge like $20 a year and they do fight hard for our rights.

I didnt see anything in the article that said they did the work for free. Why would you cut out the part where i said i assume they were being overpaid? Thats some selective shite right there

Benchmade didn't charge the OCPD to use a plasma cutter and a few tools. This was a PR blunder that turned into something worse when people started digging and saw that they'd donated to politicians that are very anti-gun. Benchmade could have just admitted to screwing up, stating they would no longer help the OCPD going forward if it involves destroying firearms, then pledged to lobby for law changes that would allow the OCPD to turn over serviceable and valuable firearms to local FFL's.

So, the cover up is worse than the crime?

I don't think they tried to cover anything up, they just posted a BS set of excuses. The OCPD deleted the original FB post thanking Benchmade and posted their own lame apology. Benchmade's daily operations are handled by Les de Asis's son as of 4 months ago so probably something the younger Asis didn't think through.

he donating to the Democrat party thing pisses me off more than the cutting of already death sentenced guns
Government bans guns or create more laws about carrying, so more people buy knives...
I am sure its personal beliefs but there might be some some business motives for it.

To be fair, some of the Democrats they've donated too are pro-gun or at least neutral. They do have a few that are very anti-gun and hopefully they'll drop those from future campaign contributions. I don't think Benchmade would intentionally lobby for gun-control, that'd be suicide in their business and they know that once gun laws are ratcheted down then knives are next on the block. I don't think they are going to pull a Dick's and double-down on their actions.

Up until a couple years ago we didn't have to fear dems concerning guns. Guns were ok by everyone.
Oregon was a very friendly gun state. Tons of guns in that state and there always will be regardless of any bullshite laws they come up with.
Things have changed very quickly. You can't trust any dem now.

There are politicians with R next to their names that are on the wrong side of this issue too. So I don't put faith in anyone unless their voting record proves out.

And pointed out where they went wrong. The owner didn't do the interview. Good thing, their you boob video was a complete flop.
Benchmade won't cup up another gun, that's for sure.

All of this makes sense. Especially the last part. Makes no sense for the police to be destroying all of those firearms, when they could auction them.
That way, some anti-gun millionaire can bid on one that killed someone, pay top dollar for it, and destroy it on some left-wing YouTube page, while talking about the police getting their blood money.

You just know the Kershaw advertising people came to work, saw the benchmade news, and just smiled.
