Anyone here send their child out of the USA or taken in a foreign student? Pros or cons?

When I was a teen, there was a really hot girl from Brazil. She was apparently very rich back home, and another girl from germany.

I'm sorry my comment is one of the first, but its 1:40am

You may have seen me on a web cam with her a few years back. Very embarrassing.

I've been trying to adopt an 18-year-old Brazilian girl for awhile.

What are you trying to do? Send one or adopt one?

Have had 2. They really just need it to get into top schools mostly. Just realize they are probably real rich and real spoiled.

Just treated mine like my other kids all went well for me. My wife (no pics) had problems with the spoiled part sometimes.

They tend to get really drunk easily... But the upside is, they really help out with the chores and the laundry you betcha...

I haven't, but my in-laws have over the years and sponsored both a teenage boy and girl from the same family over their high school years. In return, the family took their 2nd oldest son into their home in the exchange student program.

Both the German kids were great to be around and even though it's been years since their high school days, both of them have traveled back to the U.S. to visit with my in-laws several times. It's good to see how they matured and got on with their lives and careers.

Their experiences with the program were very positive.

My little sister did a semester in Prague. They only had classes M-W, and let them do whatever the rest of the time. She traveled all over Europe. Had a blast, and got to see enough to be happy

We hosted a HS Brazilian kid when I was in middle school. Him and I shared a room. He was not wealthy and we still talk to him. He wanted to come to the states to get his pilot’s license as it made a lot more sense and was a lot easier in Brazil.

I played soccer and was stoked him coming over, he sucked lol. He did Jui Jitsu though and was a pretty good wrestler.

I was always curious what it would have been like to go to another country and do that.

Don't check the "Mexico" box.
