Will Batman ever be the same without Christopher Nolan directing?

I spent this past week/weekend watching Batman Begins, Dark Knight, and Dark Knight Rises. I have to say, whoever does this next Batman movie/series has their work cut out for them.
Christopher Nolan is a freaking genius. Plus, I don’t know if anyone can replace Christian Bale as the Caped Crusader.

I’ve been saying this for years, but Batman should go the way of the Bond franchise. Give little thought to continuity and just make the movies stand up on their own. Batman’s universe is as strong as Bond’s (if not stronger), so I don’t see why it couldn’t work.
Unfortunately everything is held in place by a cinematic universe, and the clowns in charge with DC have no clue what they’re doing even if individual directors do.

It seems like you're contradicting yourself a bit

Literally what they’ve done since day one.

The IP of Batman is bigger than the Nolan movies.
Had they done a proper Batman movie before BvS, Bat-fleck & The DCEU would be crushing it.

My only wish is that I could give more than one downvote.

Is there another Heath Ledger?Without him that trilogy is pretty ordinary and really nothing special..

Your post gets at the heart of the matter. Batman is made by his villains. It has always been that way. DC is somewhat the opposite of Marvel in this regard. Marvel’s heroes are their focus, and the villains (Thanos and, to some extent, Magneto notwithstanding) are pretty uninteresting. DC’s heroes, on the other hand, tend to be vanilla, and the villains are the interesting characters. The next time they decide to make a Batman vs. the Joker movie, it will be much more important who they get to play the Joker than it will be who they get to be Batman.

I think Matt Reeves will give us a better film than any of Nolans

Batman simply doesn’t need to be a part of a connected universe other than his own. A perfect scenario would be a youngish, maybe Mid-30’s Batman that is down to do multiple, multiple films like RDJ/Hemsworth for MCU.
Then find someone similar for a Nightwing/Batgirl separate movies after the youngish Batman gets a little older and has a few movies under his belt. The Nightwing/Batgirl movies can introduce other Batman villains at the same time. Then do a connected universe within the Batman world with the occasional team up movie.

Batman Begins is a great comic book film.

What about put a universal DC villain, or a villain who usually rivals another character in a batman film. Having it to where it starts with batman, can set things up for another future character to have a rivalry too.
Not just a "Batman enemy".
Not just a "Batman enemy".

No it won't be the same.
And different is good.
Why can't it be different?
Most people love Tim Burton's Batman and it's totally different than Nolan's Batman.
Different takes aren't bad. Plus we needed new blood if you wanted more Batman movies, the last one was stale both with the Director and Bale.

Batman has two things going for him:
1. The character of Bruce Wayne/Batman is one of the most interesting comic book characters in either the DC or Marvel universes.
2. Batman's rogue's gallery is arguably the best and deepest of the DC and Marvel universes.
This should not be hard.

I never really bought into Bale as Batman. You can't be 180lbs and have the physical presence to really be Batman. Speaks to how good the Nolan movies were that the main character was a relatively weak link. Affleck was a much better representation of the Batman character than Bale.

Bale was at least a solid 220 in BB

As far as Nolan’s trilogy goes, I think Begins is the best film with Dark Knight following closely behind largely due to Joker. Rises just wasn’t good.
I’m hopeful for Reeve’s detective-centric take on the character. Hopefully we get another physically imposing individual like Affleck. I’d be ecstatic for the same fight choreographer as well. The “Saving Martha” scene is the best Batman fight in all of Batman live action.
