Christopher Nolan is a freaking genius.

Nah

Let's not get too far out on the hyperbole train

Nolan has a very impressive filmography

The Dark Knight
Inception
Interstellar
Dunkirk
Memento
The Prestige
Insomnia

it will never be the same - but Christopher Nolan is one of the worst things that ever happened to DC Cinema. He was an executive producer for all of the abominations in the last few years except for SS. He made everyone involved in the DC Cinema believe they had to make this hyper realism, dark comic book character... even for characters like Superman.

So no, they will never be the same, but hopefully DC can learn from their mistakes over the last few years and move on from Nolan and make an even better Batman.

P.S: This is coming from someone who is actually a huge fan of Nolan, I'm just a realist when it comes to his Batman trilogy and what it did to DC

Outside of his trilogy, I really don’t think Nolan has been heavily involved in the DC movies.

Batman has two things going for him:

1. The character of Bruce Wayne/Batman is one of the most interesting comic book characters in either the DC or Marvel universes.

2. Batman's rogue's gallery is arguably the best and deepest of the DC and Marvel universes.

This should not be hard.

It's fricking BATMAN. It should never be hard to put out a quality product.

I enjoyed Batman Begins, but I think that Nolan whiffed on Ra's Al Ghul. Al Ghul works better as a late-arriving villain, not as a first villain. What made him imposing in the comics was that, after all of the amazing rogues gallery villains that Batman defeated over his first 30 years, Al Ghul was the one who evaded his detection while knowing EVERYTHING about Batman.

And Al Ghul choosing to reveal his existence to Batman shocked Batman into becoming a proactive superhero. Something that we hadn't seen in superhero comics. That makes for a much better story than having Al Ghul as a teacher turned foe.
