That should be our weekend rotation but Mainieri won’t do it. Not taking anything away from Hess, but he should be our mid week starter for right now and come in for relief during the weekend.

Not sure about the order of rotation of the pitchers you listed but I agree that the 3 will eventually be the weekend rotation.

Agreed. Hess has been a starter for a total of a year and half already and has a 5+ ERA. Not only that, but he always has a high pitch count and puts a strain on our bullpen for the rest of the weekend. A guy that regularly goes 5 innings and has a 5+ERA is not a Friday night guy at LSU.

Hess should be our closer. He’s the best closer on the team.

The sooner you people realize that Hess is not moving from a weekend starter role, the sooner you will be able to enjoy the season.

For the time being, sure.

And I agree that Hess should get a fair shot at holding down Friday.

But if any of you think that Mainieri won't make a change before SEC play if Hess is still struggling, you are all fools and haven't been paying attention to how Mainieri has handled player personnel over the years.

Oh, im fully aware hes not moving from his starting role. That doesnt change the fact I believe hes the best closer on the team. His high energy pitching style and intimidating appearance are perfect for the closing role.

We both know that Hess is going to sprinkle in some 7 inning, 10 K, 1 run games. That will hold him firmly in that spot.

Why is Hilliard set for the bullpen when he is healthy? Or is it going to be temporary till he builds stamina. No reason he isn't a weekend starter by midseason again

This is ridiculous. His damn appearance makes him the best closer.

Of course he is the best closer. Want to know why? Because he's one of the best pitchers on this team. Marceaux would be a damn good closer too.

Define struggling. Marceaux, Hill, and Walker are going to have bad weekends too.

Hess Might get moved to the pen, but he has a loooooooong leash. He didn’t come back to school to pitch out the pen.

They're worried at how his body kind of broke down last towards the end of last season. They're not sure he can handle a lot of innings, which makes him a better bullpen option especially when you have so much talent on the staff.

PM doesn't care much about early games, he focuses on getting the team ready for SEC and post-season. Hess is potentially dominant, let PM do his best do get him ready for when the team NEEDS him to play like he is capable. We are looking for improvement, even if that means sacrificing a few early W's.

Do you not recall 2017? He was dominant out of the bullpen
