Over the decades, Japan has moved farther away from capitalism and embraced more socialism, and their economy has suffered for it.

I pity Japan.

It does sound pretty comfy doesn't it? Goes to show what you can achieve when you protect your borders.

The Japanese love themselves some Douglas MacArthur. The previous generations did, anyway.

I work for a Japanese company.

The country has its charms, but overall it is really a depressing place.

If only reality matched that fantasy in the slightest.

The economy isn’t even strong much less booming:

And the Japanese are notorious for having one of the highest suicide rates in the world because their homogenous society can’t get laid and is largely miserable. We don’t want to be anything like Japan.

Not surprising as few would like to be owed money by Russia? They are pretty much on a cash and carry basis.

Japan is not allowed to have an offensive army according to their constitution post WW2. I guess that's a good thing for the rest of us.

They are a island

So is England, but they allow refugees in unchecked. Japan has very strict immigration laws and will show up at your door when it's time to leave.

You should look at their demographics- more people are dying than being born. Combine that with impossible immigration and you have a nation in decline.

How is that a bad thing? I wish that would happen in the US. We have way too many people.

The problem with Japan is real estate prices. That's why they don't have as many nice golf courses as China.

England invited people from their former colonies. They've taken in a paltry number of refugees.
