Blue Wave Pure Bay 2000

We have the PB2200. I like the extra length. The Pure Bays are great boats! They hand-lay the fiberglass instead of spraying it in which means the boat is lighter. We have a 175 SHO on the back and can hit 47-49mph.

It handles chop really well and is a smooth ride. The boat before was an express aluminum boat and it is night and day difference.

Get the cyclone seats if you can. They are super comfy.

Unfortunately I can't swing the 2200. Maybe in a couple years I'll upgrade, but can't do it right now. It took me a year to convince my wife into spending the money on this one.

Do it now or not at all...

The depreciation hit you will take on the PB2000 in two years, along with the initial depreciation of the new PB2200 upon delivery will more than pay for the upgrade now...try explaining that to the wife.

My dad got a PB2200 two years ago and has been really happy with it. It has a 250 SHO on it and it will run 63 mph at 5800 RPM’s

Alright OP, even if you have to refinance your house make damn sure you get that 2 extra feet of boat and 50 extra hp. It simply will not be usable otherwise.

I’m just saying i bought a 20’ and used itfor a few years then regretted it. As someone who’s had one, 22’ is a big difference in ride and layout, also room. I was giving my advice as well as others

If the 20’ is what he wants then go for it. My buddy Bryce works at boat stuf and will get you fixed up!

If you absolutely want new then get what you feel comfortable buying. There are plenty used boats in the 22’ range even blue waves that will be comparable or cheaper then that new 20’.

They sell short/underpowered boats because not everyone can afford a blackjack with a 300 and some who can dont want to tie that much money up in a toy. We've caught many fish with 4 people in a 17' center console with a 90 that could barely break 40mph empty if you were going with the current.

These expensive boats are what work great for the dealer. 20 years ago it was pretty odd to hear about someone financing a bay boat. People everywhere are getting 10 year loans on $100k 24' boats now. Those short underpowered boats that a man can write a check for are what works for the customer who has a little fiscal sense
