we've potentially got it all.

1. does someone emerge at left tackle? Charles can play right tackle, imo. will he improve at LT, will Rosenthal or wire emerge at LT?

2. will Shelvin play fulltime at NT? will Livingston and Apu provide the rotation at NT? this would allow our quality DT's to play at their positions.

every other position looks to be covered. we will have a great season. if we are to make a run, these questions have to be answered.

btw, i'm ranting. I know this is no big secret. i'm excited about the shot at going for the SEC title and getting n the playoffs.

Stay out of trouble and don't get kicked off the team and no injuries.

That's key number one because if the players are not available nothing follows.

Ingram, maybe.

We're alot closer to a championship in basketball than we are in football.

Let that sink in for a bit.

Just be happy with NY6. We are a solid program but there are 2 teams way above the others nationally. We can’t lose 29-0 at home for the second home shutout in a row and start doing championship offseason threads over and over again

I can enjoy the season if we win 10 or 11 regular season and go NY6. I agree that 2 teams are ahead of us, but I know we're closer than we were last year.

another poster was right, too, adding no injuries, loss to discipline, etc as crucial as well. only 11 men are on the field at a time, and we can match up in a 2 deep. the better teams can go a little deeper.

What about the current HBC and OC makes you believe that this staff is capable of beating Bama in Bama much less scoring any points on them and making a run at the playoffs?

Joe Burrow, John Emery, CEH, Terrace and chase, Jefferson, etc.

I don't think the staff as bad as you do. no argument here - just opinion. but, if we don't get solid LT play, I don't believe we will outscore them.

What the heck do you think this is? Tiddlywinks? All of that stuff is going to happen

Teams that win championships don't avoid those things, they win in spite of it.

In basketball we'll at least make the playoffs.

And have to beat them again in the playoffs. So we need to beat them twice in the same year. #Mulligan

While i dont really see it as probable, i am of the belief that it is possible for us to win the title in any given year. Ive been around long enough to see some pretty improbable rises to the top.
It always takes a little luck, even for the best teams, see Bama/UGA but if you put a really good football team out there week to week, youve got a shot at luck coming into play.

Have to play QB well. Burrow is capable of winning a title if surrounded by good weapons and a good to great defenses. Doesnt have to be superman every week but cant play bad in the big games.
As for the weapon, theres plenty of talent. WR has vets and youngster to mix in and plenty of talent. Need a gamechanger to emerge. Game to game that could be a group effort. Jefferson will be the clutch guy for 3rd down. TE has to have Pettigrew or Moss emerge as a pass catcher. RB should be solid to start but really good as a group be Nov. Just have to get enough as a group or individuual until they grow up. Burrow can be helpful in the run game if we use it.
The OL is the biggest question mark. Im confident in the 3 inside spots. Possibly great if Ingram returns.Do need to improve against the better DTs. Our matchups against Willis at Miami, Bama, Williams, Davis and one of their young kids, MSU and UF were not good in our favor. OT is an issue and someone has to step up and play LT. Im comfortable with Charles at RT but Deculus just isnt good enough One of the youngsters have to rise. If one does maybe weve got a shite.

The defense is going to be good. Can it be great? We cant win, and wouldnt want to, without a great, traditionally fast, strong shutdown defense.
The DL could bring back memories of LSU defenses of the past. The size and talent is there. The kids just have to buy in.
LB should be strong early, very stout later, on the inside Phillips is a good starting piece. Queen should get better and better but dont sleep in those young kids. If Taylor returns it could be special. Divinity is good at one OLB spot and will get better. The difference between a good defense and great is all dependent on Chiasson and one other kid being that scary threat off the edge imo. Without it we will be like the 18 defense. Not great.
Confident we wilk be fine and great by Nov at corner. At S we could be elite. Delpit is a gamechanger and a combo of Stevens, Harris, Monroe, Brooks situationally could be good enough.
STs should be a team positive.

The defense needs to be elite and we have the personnel to be elite. Dint have to every week. Big games and slow offensive games, they have to be able to get stops until we score enough. We have defenses close to this often so its not out of the realm to think 11 could happen again on defense.
The offense has the talent to be good enough if things break right and the OL finds guys and they play well. They dont have to be great every week but have to be able to score and threaten a defense. I happen to think the defense will be elite or near so 24 points. A game here or there theyll need to get 30+. Overall though if our offense can score 24, i think the defense can win those games.
If those things happen then it all comes down to that one Nov game. It just takes one special night, like in 11, to win that game. It happens yearly in big games and maybe its our turn.
Get into the playoffs and then it comes down to playing 2 great games. Theres no team we cant beat at that point.

See, its possible, just not probable. Heres to believing in possibilities.

Chaisson needs to be back to 100% and play lights out, or someone else needs to step up and be a Soph Arden Key level pass rusher. That was sorely lacking last season.

I'd add Trey Palmer and Devonta Lee - I think both will get meaningful PT. And Joe Brady's schemes should take a huge load off the O-Line with quick passes.
