Also, who was the landscaper outside the window when Amelia was interviewing the girl? I have the think of they made it a point to show him, he fits into this somehow.
The name on the truck was the same last name of the little boy they talk to in 80. The one who Amelia said had a crush on Jamie. I have to give credit to the flat circle podcast on that
Also the killer from season 1 was landscaper.

i took the one-eyed man as an operative who nobody would suspect of being so
he was pumping her for information directly in a way that nobody in the audience would suspect (hell, even y'all don't)

I don't know. Obviously that is possible but I am thinking he was the person they were playing D&D with and possibly tried to save them.

He was also calling her out the same way Wayne had about using the events to become famous.
I'm thinking he ends up being good. Maybe has wind of what Hoyt does and was trying to save them.

Also on the daughter- there was the scene where Wayne was hallucinating talking to Amelia earlier in season where she said something like the daughter wasn’t lost to him in the way he was thinking - something like that anyway. And the scene where Wayne’s son told him he’d seen her whenever semi recently which could have been them going to visit her grave.
If we go on the theories that Wayne and Roland killed Harris because Harris killed Tom. Does that mean that Roland and Wayne solved it all in 90 but took justice in their own hands and the truth never came out publically? Iow, there’s really nothing to solve in 2015 just the lady is doing the documentary or whatever and Wayne simply doesn’t remember? That would kind of fit with the the preview saying something like sometimes it’s better not to know or not remember? (Again I don’t remember exact wording.)

I definitely think they already solved it

The conversation between the old men indicated there was still something to solve in 2015.

Also, the landscaper at the halfway house was Ardoin landscaping. That's the name of the boy that was trick-or-treating with the kids. I think they were showing us that for a reason.
Good pickup. I was wondering why they showed that.

It's finding Julie. That's always been what Wayne needed to put this case to bed. He wants to hear her version of the events and probably let her know her father loved her and that some of the men responsible paid for what they did.

I think it's pretty clear that the second one-eyed man works, or worked, for the Hoyts. When they interviewed the first guy with one eye, he made it clear that folks that worked in the chicken or pig industry often ended up with a dead eye.
I don't know about that one-eyed guy playing AD&D with the kid(s). Game was relatively new at the time, and, if we are assuming "historical accuracy," a likely poor, middle-aged black guy in rural Arkansas wasn't the demographic for pen-and-paper RPGing back in 1980. Also, if it's accurate, there were two versions of the game then, the basic D&D and Advanced D&D. AD&D was usually for more experienced players. After all, the kid was making maps wand whatnot, so I'd think it's pretty clear he'd been playing for a while with someone.
That's probably not important, but the inclusion of D&D is neat as well as the throwaway(?) line concerning worry that kids are dying because of playing the game. Fits the theme of that time just like Season 1 touched on the "Satanic Panic" a bit.
Regarding the phone call...who all is up at the podium during the press conference that initiates Julie's call? There's no guarantee she meant Tom when she said "man pretending to be my father." Could have been anyone up there, including the future AG Kindt.
And it's clear from her drawings that she had been in, or told about in detail, the pink room before getting locked inside of it.
I'm also pretty curious about the true fate/current condition of Hays' daughter.
Edi to add:
It's pretty clear that Pizzolato is still drawing on his Louisiana roots when providing names for things. Ardoin...Shoepick (though, not spelled how it's really spelled)...I believe there were a few others in there as well.
Second Edit:
Looks like the book they showed wasn't an actual AD&D book...and the book itself may subtly "connect" Season 3 to Season 1 via the Cthulhu Mythos (Leng leads to Yellow King/Carcosa talk), according to this Reddit thread. (The artist that provided the artwork for the prop replies in the thread providing an Instagram link to a fuller shot of the art. There is a second book there as well, so may be a spoiler?)

I was wondering when they would get to the peep hole. I thought for sure the uncle was creeping on her. Using that for passing notes was well done.

From the beginning I've been interested to know how the AG was involved. He obviously wants to bury it in 1990. Is it as simple as he's trying to protect Hoyt, who is a friend and likely donor? Or is he actually involved.
And to that end, what does Alan know? He split from AG at some point before 90. Why? And why isn't Roland pushing him for more info?

Correct. The one eyed man was trying to determine if Amelia was on to them or not but doing it in a way to make it look like he was concerned about the girl.
Also, he was probably a hoyt employee who lost his eye on the chicken line years ago but they found him more meaningful work doing "special projects" for the hoyt family.

Exactly. Is he just playing politics and looking the other way for donor money or his he more deeply involved?
I was wondering if the Alan guy would come in to play as some twist or something because he ended up getting on camera during that press conference with the Woodard kids.

I thought Hays rolling up the paper and testing the peephole proved the hole was too long and the note would've gotten stuck in the hole?

You're assuming the note has to drop through. It made it far enough out the hole to be grabbed by the person on the other side.
Besides, he said they were passing notes as an old man to Roland, to which Roland agreed.
Regarding the notes, I'm sure someone will produce a screen capture showing them all, but the one that has been most clear says "Don't Listen." To what should she have not listened?
Posted on 2/11/19 at 10:58 am to Sasquatch Smash
Lucy telling Tom what he already knew, that he was not Julie’s father.

Yeah, I was a little confused on the notes. Are they saying the uncle was passing Julie the notes? The phone conversation where Julie calls into the 911 operator kinda makes me think that Tom really wasn't her Dad and maybe he was the one who had kidnapped her, or she could have just developed Stockholm Syndrome. IDK. This season has been confusing.

If you think this season is confusing, your head must have exploded in season 2.

No. The kids were passing notes to each other, or at the very least Will was passing them to Julie. Though, is the handwriting on all the notes the same? The pieces of paper we collected in Julie's room, so it's doubtful she'd have notes she had written herself.

This was hinted at even before the revelation the he is likely gay.

I'd say the ending to last night's episode made it clear Tom had nothing to do with the kidnapping.
