Beast. I wish we’d had him one more year.

99-00 was such a fun season

Indeed! The Tigers had a swagger about them that year not seen since those miracle tournament teams of the 80s. And prior to that Stromile Swift season, LSU basketball had six straight terrible seasons.

If 99-00 was a fun season, then 00-01 was every bit as unfun.

That game against No. 1 Arizona is my favorite PMAC game of all time. Ran them out of the gym.

Same. I wish I could back and relive that Jabari funk dunk live again in that game. The PMAC was insane.

I had seen him do it earlier that year against Grambling in front of nobody.

Think we had 16 first half points total. Brutal is an understatement for that mess. Brady always was onthe fence with fans for games like that from what I remember. I was a student at the time .

I still fricking hate wisconsin for ending that season

That game was brutal.

The ugliest basketball game I have ever seen in my entire life. I still cannot a team with that much talent lost shooting like 25% to wisconsin.

Was it swift or Thomas who had an awesome block on UT’s (Texas) Chris Milm?

This was Stromile in the second round game in 2000. Here's an old article on how Swift "dominated" Mihm in that game

The “COACH’S DAUGHTER” chant was a nice touch

Not a lot of Stro gifs from LSU so some NBAs will have to do.

I'll always remember that block against Mihms in the NCAA tournament game fondly.

And yeah for everyone mentioning the Wisconsin loss.

No question the most frustrating basketball loss of all time for me.

I just could not believe we couldn’t find a way to crack that white boy D they were running.

That was a Final 4 team and bounced in Sweet 16 with our lowest points of the year. Purdue would have been a layup to the Final 4 against eventual champ Michigan State.

Would have been a lot of fun to see Stro and Jabari going at Cleeves and Peterson.

Wisconsin made it to the final 4 that year. We had such a good starting 5. We had 4 players who were capable of making threes. Beshera and Roland were 2 very solid players. Roland loves the 3 on the wing.

I was there to! I think it was a weekday game I honestly dont remember, I had a blast we went to coffee call after dad and my grandfather used to tell me stories about back in the day....

So mad they tore down the old coffee call building and now are in that more modern building. Felt like that place should have been left as is indefinitely
