Effectively, no.
They will not have cap space, most likely.
Without cap space, they can only be an over the cap team and possibly use the MLE on him. He's not signing for the MLE.
Plus, he wants to sign a 1+1 and then get the 10 year vet Max.

Take your pelicans shades off for a quick second. If you were Boston and kyrie leaves which is looking more likely. Would you then trade the future centerpiece of your organization in Tatum for a superstar that says he won’t resign with you the following year?

Why are you impressed cuz I’m not. Most if not all pel fans believe the pels stuck it to the lakers and lebron and Klutch Sports so they’re blinded by that instead of looking at the potential risk that most knowledgeable fans know is more of a reality than they would let on.
