Do they realize that white people invented “soul food”?

It’s just normal poor southern food.

The only reason it was associated with blacks is because they brought it north with them during the great migration, to those Yankee cities.

They’ve been culturally appropriating fried chicken (scots-Irish) for years.

What is known as “soul food” is just southern cuisine, which definitely isn’t solely black. Poor whites at the same things. Pot-likker, fried chicken, chitterlings, pigs jowls, etc...

None of these are exclusively black in the south, especially not back then

you know this is a lie.

There is some truth to it.

most of what we consider "soul food" is a result of the poor Scots that permeated the South

The Scots invented the frying process, and the excessive use of lard.

The Scots intermingled with the Natives and what became soul food was born.

Former slaves took the mantle after emancipation and ran with it. . .which makes sense, because they were shite-arse poor and tended to gravitate to areas where the Scots lived.

There are uniquely AA aspects, such as strange animal parts (feet, lips, etc) which were developed because slaveowners only gave the slaves the unused parts of animals.

I never even knew there was a food rivalry between us. I thought we all ate and cooked the same shite.
