I was not a fan of city slice at all. Crust was way too thin and flavorless for the kind of pizza their trying to make.

People love Rocca but I was unimpressed the one time I've been. Pizza was a soggy mess. Need to try it again but with a pizza with less toppings
People who order Neapolitan style pizza loaded up with toppings are going to have a bad time. It's intended to be a minimalist style that features the dough/crust.

Would be great if he launched another restaurant. He was a jackass to his employees and even to some customers. However, there is no denying his lunch buffet was top notch. Count me in as a patron if this happens.

Agreed, however, it's kind of on the restaurant when some of their signature pizzas involved heaping toppings on the minimalist style crust. I love Rocca, but they get a little too ambitious with the toppings on some of their pizzas and it affects the quality of those particular pies.

I used to eat his pizza all the time at the old place on Jones Creek...when it first opened, it was really good...as time went on, you could tell he was cutting costs on ingredients and the pizza went way down hill.
Last time I went in there, he wasn’t running the AC and I knew he was finished...too bad. I hope the new joint lasts.

Big Slice in dutchtown is surprisingly good. Great crust from their oven, sauce is good and staff very friendly. Only complaint is the sausage is just sliced sauce pieces from a link sausage.

I recently saw Johnny eating at Bistro Italia on Coursey... maybe he was sizing up the competition?

Fleur de Lis still has pretty good pizza. I was there a few weeks ago and the place was packed.

The business license says it's the La Contea guys. LINK Would be nice if they would open it already, it's been "opening soon" for the last 4-5 months now. I would hope they're not just copying their La Contea pizza for this.
Eh, best pizza this side of BR is JD's nephew who runs Bistro Italia. I've seen JD in there a few times. TBH, I like his a lot more than JD's stuff.

I know this, but if they're going to serve Neapolitan pizza that will fall apart and have gummy dough, why do they have recipes with that many toppings? I didn't construct my own, I ordered their recipes

Never made it to Oscar's Pizza and Ice Cream. Nor Souga. Were they good?

Place is legit. Easily best pizza in BR.

Can someone update us on NY Pizza and Pasta on Jones Creek? Also, where was Momma Della's? Seem to remember that name but can't place it.

We've been once about 2 weeks ago. It was good but nothing spectacular.
My wife and I got a slice of meat lovers stuffed pizza. One slice was a meal for each of us. My daughter got a slice of pepperoni. She enjoyed it. I ate her leftovers later that evening. A slice is about 1/4 of a large pizza.
I'll probably try it again soon since we live right around there.

My favorites are the wood-fired pizza place in White Star Market and LIT
I actually love the flavor of Fleur de lis, but it never agrees with my stomach.

This. The pizzas are huge and the crust is thin and good. You can order by the slice too if you just want to grab something for lunch
