So, Star Wars: Clone Wars series was great

I'm apparently way behind on just learning about it. Finishing it up soon and it's been really good. Is Rebels just as good? Seems like resistance is a shite-sandwich like TLJ.

Rebels is really good, it just has a different feel than Clone Wars.
Clone Wars feels like any age could watch it, while Rebels felt a bit more kid-friendly.
Any big SW fan should watch both though.

Rebels is very good overall, though it swings from very high to very low. It includes some of my favorite Star Wars moments (i.e. season 2 finale) but also a lot of wasted filler episodes.

Rebels isn't quite as good IMO, but it is still very good. Clone Wars was just phenomenal. The latter half of Rebels is definitely its best run. If you like Clone Wars, you'll like rebels.
There is a fun fan theory that this most recent Clone Wars animated series is all propaganda pieces done by the Republic/Jedi to frame the narrative of how good they were during the war, while the original Clone Wars series was a more historically accurate depiction of both sides being a bit in the wrong at times.

There was a handful of filler episodes in Clone Wars too it seemed like. But most of the episodes were pretty solid. I've read there's also a chronological order you can watch them in posted on Reddit, but I just watched it how they came out by season. I'll definitely give rebels a try. Introducing stuff like saul guerrero and the brain chip was pretty cool. Did actually tie the stories together better than just watching the movies.

I'm not certain, but I believe Lucas had Clone Wars episodes written up long before they actually decided to make it a show.
Disney certainly used some Lucas ideas when making movies but Star Wars just isnt the same without him. Even the prequels still felt like Star wars movies.

Binge watching Clone Wars has been so far my favorite experience on Netflix.
Felt like I just forgot Earth existed and that's where I actually live. It was a grand, an absolutely grand adventure and an incredible story to tell with deep characters. It was some truly amazing star wars to watch and really captured the feel of the original trilogy.
When I finished and came back to Earth, I just felt empty and hollow.
It really did a hell of a job of making the prequels make more sense and have worth in their place in official canon.

Clone Wars is a fantastic series and added a lot to the saga. Obi-Wan is fantastic and Anakin becomes a far more likable character. The entire "you were my brother Anakin" line holds more weight after viewing the series.

Is this the 2003 series or the 2008 series? I've never seen the 2003 one but really liked the 2008 one. Which is better?
Rebels is okay, but something about it annoys me. Can't quite put my finger on it.
The entire 2003 series is on YouTube now.

2008. It will be returning with new episodes via Disney streaming service.

Added a fair amount of depth to almost every character in the prequels and kind of lays the foundation for some of their actions or explains a few things. Looking at ep 2 and 3 they're almost half complete without the series.

Without a doubt. Some one the best characters being the clones. Cody firing on Obi-Wan during 66 takes on new meaning. New characters like Snips and Cad Bane are great as well.

The final season of Rebels was NOT kid friendly.

Hoping for more Thrawn content outside of the Zahn novels.
Also wondering if we’ll get an appearance from Sabine (with or without Ahsoka) in The Mandalorian.

I read this is why they started to cancel it? Or maybe it was clone wars? Although i think clone wars was due to star wars being bought out. One of the shows started to get too dark near the end. Which clone wars kind of has. Maybe that's why resistance is anime style. It looks like hot garbage from what little I've seen. Disney app has 1 or 2 ep of rebels that changes out from time to time.

It explained the rise and fall of Anakin’s padawan.
It also went deeper into the Sith.
Also agree with earlier comments on Cody and the significance behind “you were my brother, Anakin”

Season 1 of Rebels was very bad. It was like Disney wanting to pander to kids and sell toys.
Then they started telling great stories. The finale was top notch.

Is it just the episodes it was cancelled out of with the buy out or will they expand from there. I'd love to see Vader and the 501st go hunting.
