Is this our best basketball team since the Final 4 squad?

I really like this team.

In that timeframe the only teams in contention for “better” I think would be the last Mickey/Martin year and the Marcus Thornton year. I’d take this team I think.

I think so. Especially by tourney time. Team has a lot of young guys that are starting to get it.

Yes. We are thin though. We really need Days to be alright and Edwards to return at some point for some added depth

It’s our most talented but they have some issues to clean up to become the best. I’d say 09 has that distinction as of now.

The 08-09 team wasn’t as talented, but they were a really good, veteran led team with Thornton, Tasmin, Temple, C Johnson. Their biggest problem was they weren’t very deep. That said, I think they would beat this current team right now, but by season’s end this young team could be special.

Pretty much my answer as well. Given the struggles closing out games thus far, I'm not confidently taking this team over one with Thornton, Tas, and Temple.

The 2009 team was fantastic and criminally underseeded because the SEC was down at the time.

We tend to make games closer than they should be, but they’re getting better about finishing. We need to keep winning the close ones. Big game this Tuesday in Oxford!!!

The Ben Simmons team had more talent, but Hornsby was injured a lot and the coaching was lacking.

They sure as hell have the talent and potential to be.

The Marcus thorton team was legit. Won the SEC, smacked Butler around in the first round, then gave UNC their only good game of the tourney.

You’re making me think of all the talent we’ve had in the last 12 years and how little it’s gotten us.
How terrible were Trent and JJ?!

Ehhh Thorton squad was more experienced but not as talented; these guys have a higher upside. I know there's always 'next year u' jokes but if they keep this nucleus together, they're a final four threat next year

This team doesn’t have a consistent deep shooter. That will be our Achilles heel in March.

No disrespect at all, but I disagree. That 09 team was REALLY good. They played as well together as the 06 team did, if not better. They got an awful seeding and had to play NC in the second round who was the #1 overall seed. We would have been an elite 8 type team atleast that year.
