I never said he was leaving for sure. Just that he was actively pursuing other gigs. Troy passed on him for HC, and NFL not calling. At this point it looks more like his contract will be up next season, and he possibly won't be retained. When/If Tommie moves on, Kev will be the RB coach though.

Moolah. He is one of the lowest paid on the staff and one of the best recruiters and DB coach in the country. Either break bread with him or lose him, its that simple.

He’s the highest paid DB coach in the country! Had his responsibilities cut in half and still got a raise last year when Busch was hired to coach the Safety’s.

Where do you people come from?

Is Raymond hard after the recruiting coordinator title?

Maybe Raymond feels he's well suited for those responsibilities. He's certainly excelled at his current position.

Just like with any other job.

What if your boss brought in buddies from their BBQ days to your job after you’ve put in years of work wit lg outstanding results only to get paid less than the 2 guys brought in, both with subpar resumes

As long as he gives us an opportunity to match or beat their offer.... go with God, Corey.

My sauces say Raymond is being considered for the DC job in Georgia. He wants to be a DC. So if not Georgia, he could be leaving for a coordinator job that pays more.

I assumed since a replacement has been tabbed he was on his way out. My apologies

Nothing can be done if that's the case. It would suck to see him go, but LSU can't keep him if he gets an offer he likes.

He won't be DC here in 2019.

why would he wanna go? that’s a lateral move right?

Raymond was not at all happy when they took away his responsibility of coaching the safety position. He has always had total control of the entire secondary since the Miles era. Trust me, he was NOT HAPPY when this changed!

I'm sure he feels it's his time to shine and run a defense. He has to start somewhere. Georgia would be a great start if offered the DC.

In other words, he was demoted last year.
Despite outstanding performance.
Enough motivation to move on...

LSU pays the best defensive back coach in all of college football $425k per year - less than 1/2 of what he should be making and he’s been there for 6yrs and is author of “DBU”.

LSU deserves to lose him - he has been taken for granted and screwed over for being loyal.

I'm all for paying Raymond what he deserves. In his current position that's probably 550K. If he take the recruiting coordinator title it bumps to 750K.

Suggesting that a position coach should make 900K without any additional responsibilities is a bit over the top.

Sullivan made $450k last year. That isn't even close to $900k. And he just retired.
