Fairly confident UGA will double what Raymond makes now - UGA boosters can ante up better than Bama. Dawgs just saved ton of money by letting Chaney leave and promoting Coley at OC.

Not saying Raymond will leave as he is LSU alum and loyal guy - but LSU’s gonna have to ante up big time.

If UGA is willing to give Raymond 850K they will probably land him. Tripling the market rate for a good DB coach isn't something I see LSU doing, even if Raymond is the best in the country.

FYI, UGA is upping the coaches allotment for assistants again.

Mark Richt had little power and didn’t fight much with AD Greg McGarity. Kirby bosses McGarity around like the help.

Not by 2 million dollars. Maybe a few hundred thousand.

I would think it's more about appreciation than $$. But LSU better pony up. He needs to be the highest paid non-coordinator on staff.

Honestly I'm surprised he's not the recruiting coordinator

I’m biased in this, Cory was a sophomore on our HS football team my senior year. He started from day one. I hope he stays but, I’m more of Corey Raymond fan than a O fan. LSU needs to do what it takes to keep him happy and home.

Obviously I want Raymond for my Dawgs, but whether we get him or not, hope he gets paid something fair by LSU if he stays.

LSU hasn't been paying him fairly? Isn't he one of the highest paid secondary coaches in the country?

He's the best DB coach in the country. He's the highest paid DB coach in the country. He deserves 500-550K, which would put him 25% more than the 2nd highest paid DB coach.

I think that's fair, but if he's really trying to position himself for a DC job and he thinks UGA gets him there there may not be much we can do.

He def deserves to be paid in that 500-550 range, he is worth that if Robinson is making 600 thou a year.

The best position coach in the country from a marquee college football university should not make less than $500k.

The actual coaching is only about 60% of the job and recruiting is 24/7/365.

LSU is paying him the current market value. If the value goes up a reasonable about (500K or so) they will pay him. If the value goes up an obscene about (850K like you're suggesting) LSU will probably let him walk.

Yeah Mel Tucker was DC and he made $1.5mm - he was also the DB coach. His salary is off the books at UGA.

Jim Chaney was Co-OC and he was making $950k and his salary is off the books. Coley was other Co-OC at $850k and he will get a small raise.

Dawgs will bump up all the position coaches and probably promote either LB coach Lanning or Schumann to Co-DC.

Where Raymond would fit in would likely be DB coach and Co-DC. For that position, he could EASILY be paid $800-950k.

It’s Kirby’s defense so Raymond can ease into more position responsibilities. Kirby very much values recruiting ability and has been wanting to improve the back end of the defense.

Raymond is gonna have to turn down a lot of money to stay.

Probably just leverage for a pay raise.

If that offer is made, I'd expect Corey to take the job.

If he were co-DC he would get that at LSU. That doesn't seem to be in the cards for him here. At least not from anything being reported.

Yeah, you guys have Aranda who won’t be “Co-anything” other than “Co-Head Coach” LOL.

Dawgs are in good position to steal Raymond away. Probably will come down to what “Momma Raymond” wants and the women usually want the money.

Also just wanted to say “Thank You” to LSU team and coaches for beating UCF - that story needed to die and now it’s dead.

LSU isn't going to give anyone a co-DC title while Aranda is on staff because that position comes with a large salary, which LSU isn't going to pay while the DC is making 2.5 million. It has nothing to do with Aranda's ego.

Corey Raymond isn't married.
