Read she was running and went fully listen/watch the Joe Rogan podcast she did a few months back. She’s impressive. She seems to be intelligent, well spoken, genuine and she’s attractive. All these things are going to be big check marks for the average American. The part I like the most about her, and it’s what got me thinking she’s got a real chance is the honesty she portrays. Look I can’t vouch for her, and I don’t know her full track record. But, after listening to her for a few hours I could imagine myself voting for her.

As someone who voted Trump and love the anti- establishment he portrayed in his campaign. I get some of that same vibe from her. I don’t know about her voting record or what policies she will push to definitively say I would or wouldn’t vote for her over trump. However, observing this last election and seeing the trends Americans are setting with how much news they are consuming from independent sources. People want real, honest opinions. I think she’s got it.

This is my snap reaction as a right center guy with little knowledge of her before listening to the podcast and reading the quick summaries of her on the internet.

Tulsi is best friends with a very good friend of mine. She is left of center on all domestic issues but closer to a classical liberal than anyone else in today’s democrat party on foreign policy.

That said she endorsed and chaired Bernie’s campaign so that should say a lot about her.

If she were not so pro-abortion I would think about her. She would need to come out pro-life though.

If she is pro 2nd Amendment and for the FairTax.

I'll consider her.

With the type of democrats the media has been pushing, and how the far left is attacking many of the most important rights of a free society, I’m on the same page as you. I don’t get that vibe from her. I know she sided with Bernie, and she’s talked about universal income during the podcast. However, her versions of government programs aren’t just about handouts for the poor. I’m rambling on a night shift. It may come out she’s super left, and I will be back to voting straight R. However, maybe this is a more sane D.

Strike 1

Any democrat as a president gives more power to Schumer and Pelosi or whatever kooks succeed them. Daschle to Reid to Schumer is a downward spiral. God knows the kook that will be next. Pelosi has been entrenched so long I don't remember her predecessor.

Strike 2

Judges

Strike 3

The hit pieces are already out.

HQ IN DAMASCUS?’

Tulsi Gabbard, Bashar Assad’s Favorite Democrat, Is Running for President

quote:

Indeed, the issue of war has been central to Gabbard’s appeal on the left: a military veteran who deployed to Iraq, she has been a leading critic of “regime change,” particularly in Syria, arguing the U.S. government should instead work with dictators and their sponsors in the region in order to more effectively wage the war on terror.

quote:

Gabbard’s move comes amid an unusually public spat between her and fellow Hawaii Sen. Mazi Hirono. In a recent OpEd, Gabbard accused her fellow Democrat of “fomenting religious bigotry” over her questioning of a Trump judicial nominee, Brian Buescher, about his affiliation with the Knights of Columbus, a conservative Catholic group that has funded a number of right-wing causes.

quote:

Gabbard’s father, a state lawmaker in Hawaii, is also a member of the Knights, who has also long been tied to a Krishna sect led by a guru named Chris Butler, who preaches that homosexuality is a sin. Defending her father in 2004, Gabbard responded to questions about this relationship by telling a reporter she could “smell a skunk,” writing: “It’s clear to me that you’re acting as a conduit for The Honolulu Weekly and homosexual extremist supporters of Ed Case,” another Hawaii Democrat.

quote:

In 2015, for example, Gabbard joined congressional Republicans in voting for an “extreme vetting” bill that the Obama administration said would effectively bar the resettlement of Syrian refugees — the same year she was a keynote speaker at the Christians United for Israel summit in Washington, DC.

Asked about the news of her presidential campaign, a prominent Democratic strategist joked to The Daily Beast, “HQ in Damascus?”

It's tough for a mere Congressperson to get national traction. Even Senators have had a hard time in recent years. Governors and vice presidents have done better.

It's certainly possible she shows well in debates and gets positive press, but that will happen later in the year. Meanwhile she has to fund raise and that's tough in her position.

She was a huge Bernie supporter. As much as America needs centrist candidates who represent the true values of our country like she claims too that would preclude her from serious consideration by a thoughtful person. Which may be 25% of voters.

Bottom line she was either lying then or she's lying now if she says she is now responsible. I think she is an opportunist who saw many leftists win by espousing responsible centrist positions. Bernie was and is the ultimate pro Russian colluder. Hell he is communist and loves them. And she wanted to put a guy in the WH who is enamored with central government control of business and people's lives. A guy who was and is too left for today's democrat party?

Her membership in today's Democrat Party says all you need to know. No person of conscience or principle can associate with that hatefilled sewer.

Maybe. I disclose I know little about her. If anything use this as an example of how many average Americans will view/react to her.

The issues of appointing judges may be the reason I never actually pull the lever for a Democrat again. The country is very divided, and it will probably never be fully mended. I think the most powerful voice to really mend the gaps would be that of a moderate, well spoken, likeable...Democrat. The left controls the media, and I believe the voice that would carry the most weight when calling them on their bullshite would be one of their own. Now this candidate will probably never exist, but I’d like to try and find em.

Her foreign policy alone makes her better than the other Democrats. It really is telling that, as soon as anyone who isn't a hyper-interventionist runs for political office, our media coordinates hit pieces on them. Never question the most fundamental American political orthodoxy: permanent war. I wish Tulsi well and I hope she exposes the other Dems for the warmongering hypocrites they are.

The huffy post thinks she is too much like Trump.
She sounds like HRC with less neocon.
