Bill Busch opens up on recruiting

“Absolutely,” Busch said of LSU making their presence felt in California. “And playing out in the Fiesta Bowl was really big for us. I can’t comment on (2020 recruits), but it’s going very, very well. They are very, very receptive.”

He could be big for us in Cali, 2020.

We could use some lineman and QB’s from California. Help supplement the talent in Louisiana!

I completely agree with you here Vol and there's no doubt about it. Now with Sullivan gone we need to make another Bill Busch type of hire for the offensive side of the ball.
Hopefully a QB guru who can help with innovation on offense. Specifically in the RZ and help develop these QBs. Someone who can spend time with the QB, RBs, TEs and WRs to help them all get on the same page. Someone with a better understanding of college route trees and getting the TEs/RBs involved in the passing game. Someone who can help with our screen game and attacking the flats. Some type of quick passing attack that's effective.
IMO that's what's missing from Steve Es offense. He can call plays but could use some help with how he attacks a defense in the RZ, using the entire allotment of talent and the entire field mixing in a quick strike offense with an effective screen game to boot. Someone that can recruit nationwide and out west. Maybe he can get the extra RBs, TEs, QBs, WRs and OLman here, especially those top OTs.
If LSU lands someone like that then look the frick out man. We will be coming for sure. A nice 6'6 265 LB athletic TE who can run a 4.5 or 4.6 40 with great hands and leaping ability would be huge for us in all phases of the game especially in the RZ. GT

Vol what are you hearing on the coaching front

The other day on his radio show, Moscona alluded to the fact that Corey Raymond was mad that we hired Bill Busch. Any truth to that? He went into detail about how he took on a smaller role as just CBs coach. He also could have been mad at first but happy when after he actually got to work with the guy.

We just received a huge commitment from the trinity league and now eyes are focused on the #1 rated qb from the trinity league. Could be YUGE

Yes. Jimmy Graham with a little more speed would be a nice addition.

Coach O can’t hire assistants, they said
we don’t need a safeties coach, they said

They have them out there, go get them. You laugh but that's what we need, or someone close. We could also use someone like Marshall, Sullivan, Anderson or Pettigrew in a similar way especially against the smaller less talented schools with shorter corners.

It's a slap in the face to Raymond they said (I guess they're still saying this one though).
Turns out "they" aren't as smart as they think they are.

So tell us how Coach O went out and got Busch.
When did he decide he needed a safeties coach?
Did he put out feelers all over and research candidates? Did he tap into his Rutgers and Ohio State contacts for suggestions?
GTFO, Aranda is responsible for this.
But you knew this, you contrarian you.

It's amusing how ranters distribute credit and blame for decisions and outcomes. It's always so rational, well informed and with absolutely no agenda.

What? Are you saying that Aranda didn't geaux and hire Bill Busch without Eaux's knowledge? Come on man!

I think he was being sarcastic

Yes, I got that. My post was also total sarcasm.
And making fun of the guy who said it was totally Aranda that got Busch to LSU. I would think the head coach would have to be okay with it for it to happen.
