He is talking about Les Miles.
Not true. Can’t believe everything you read on those message boards man...
This was known on the recruiting board. When LSU finally turned their attention to Travis it was too late. He had already turned the page on LSU.

Good for Etienne for moving on. Wish him the best

Apparently Orgeron didn't like him either. Orgeron was named interim coach in September. LSU didn't offer Etienne until December 27.

Someone replied “Les” to his tweet, and Vincent replied to that with this gif:

I think LSU had 5-6 spots left at that point for that class.
Etienne's father says other wise. He loved O.

Clemson didn't offer Etienne until December. LSU was too late though and it's 100% Miles fault, who was fired at the end of September. Makes sense.
Sounds like neither of LSU's head coaches in 2016 was all that interested. We know both went full court press on Cam Akers.

I mean, if we're being honest, it's pretty obvious that Les had Akers ahead of Etienne and didn't want to take both. Whether that was the right call at the time, who knows, but Akers was the 2nd best RB in the class, so you can't really argue against it.
When Orgeron was named interim HC, he could have offered Etienne knowing that it might piss of Akers, but he chose not to do so.

And when did Clemson show up and offer?
The battle was lost before O took over
ETA: not sure why downvotes, Clemson showed up late and offered and he took it...shows he had already turned the page on LSU no matter when O would’ve

Damn, we should really fire this guy!

I mean We probably should have offered him right away.
RB was a need in that class.
We signed 24 and took Jefferson late.
I think O liked him but wanted Akers.

The day before we offered. They really locked it up in one day.
ETA: Nevermind, we offered him like 2 weeks before Clemson did. IIRC they lost a RB recruit and offered him after that.

Coach Eaux didn't even allow the LSU commits to come to LSU on official visits during the 2016 season. He wanted the new coach, whoever it was going to be, to make those decisions. There was one visit that happened, I forget who it was.
So not offering Etienne is no surprise. Etienne's aunt said Travis and the whole family liked Eaux. But LSU was already out of the discussion by that time.

Akers had said he was going to go where Brennan went but when 0 started the rumors about Tua and Brennan backed away for a bit we lost Akers.

Ree doesn't even care about this topic. He's trying to distract people from the fact that Nick Saban just went 14-1 and is making staff changes while Ed O and company are making excuses as to why they should keep their buddies.

After LSU offered. The rumor at the time was that Etienne felt like he was spurned by his home state school when he didn't get an early offer. O could have rectified this by offering as soon as he was named interim, but he chose not to do so.
I don't really place blame on either coach here. Akers was clearly the better prospect, so I can't blame Les for rating him higher than Etienne. I also understand that Orgeron was dealt a difficult hand when he took over, but he ultimately chose to go the same route Miles did by choosing not to offer Etienne until Akers committed to FSU.

Miles wanted Akers and Orgeron followed suit. Akers was an elite prospect so I don't really put the blame on anyone. Etienne didn't like being put on the back burner by LSU so he looked elsewhere. Can't blame the young man for that.

well they had 5-6 open spots left, up until that point a lot of recruiting capital had been spent on Akers, as well as specific targets left to fill the remaining spots.
I have no doubt if O were starting from scratch he Etienne is a tiger. Les Miles fricked this up royally. People have argued agains this for years. You were one of them. It's nice to see this come out.
