No. It is not. I live 30 miles from the epicenter of the New Madrid Fault and did not feel anything.

I remember first feeling a tremor in my first grade class. That was a long time ago. Since then I have lost count of the number I have experienced.

The first time I was ever in one, I was teaching a class in Japan and everybody immediately jumped under the big wooden table we were sitting at. I truly had no idea what was happening and felt like a dumbass.

I remember some "scientist" predicted a major earthquake on the New Madrid Fault line on Dec 3, 1990. I was in fourth grade and being in Memphis, a lot of parents kept their kids home from school that day. Those of us that went watched movies all day.

We also had to bring "earthquake kits" to school which had a space blanket, some snacks and two Capri Suns.

Damn. I’m assuming that’s not enough to cause damage. If so, I Hope your ponds are ok.

Us geological survey could say something if they were not shut.

There are 3 or 4 earthquakes a day here. I'm spitting distance from a magma chamber 14 km long. We get cheap electric out of it though.

I'm guessing new Madrid for you.

Do you know your area?

Mine is a disaster movie.

My fault. I'm in Leland watching the 1988 LSU Auburn game on the VHS in my trailor and had the volume kind of loud.

Sheeeet

I survived the May 4, 2018 Louisiana earthquake AND tsunami.
Even have the shirt to prove it.

Was in the gulf at mouth of the Mississippi River fishing when it happened.
Didn’t feel or see a damn thing, but I survived it nonetheless.

Yep. Fraking is causing plates, which used to be normally stable to shift.
