We really was missing that piece last year I feel if we had that threat Joey B woulda been more effective.

We had Guice last season. But if we had Guice this past season, we prolly still fall short of playoffs

No but we just miss.

I dont Think we jump OU or Notre Dame

Maybe he’s good for 2 games, but I dont Think he’s what’s missing vs Bama

I mean he fuked it up in the NFL maybe if he stayed for senior year he runs for 1500+ and is a top 10 pick instead of a 2nd round IR case. Still love him one of my favorite all time tigers just thinking of what coulda been and yes this is what off-season is all about....reflection

We make the playoff with an 11-1 record no matter what, Oklahoma barely scraped by a 2 loss Georgia. LSU would have by far the strongest strength of record in the country with 11 wins

Getting your starters to the Senior season is always a huge advantage.

Not having a power back really hurt the team this year. It made losing Etienne that much harder when we went all in for Akers.

This recruiting class can't get here soon enough.

RB wasn't really our problem. It was the OL.

Guice alone doesn't can transform our crappy running game (91st in the country in yards per rush). Certainly he would've been better than Brosette and CEH, but he really can only do what the OL allows him to do.

It's the OL.

We didnt have speed or the explosiveness like that this year. CEH was closest thing to it but he lacked the top end of Guice to get the edges even when blocking breaks down. Just saying coulda turned FG in to TDs and extended drives that needed to be extended to finish games off if we had that guy.

No we don't.

Alabama wins SEC, 13-0, ranked #1: in.
Clemson wins ACC 13-0, ranked #2: in.
Notre Dame 12-0, beat a couple of ranked teams, beat LSU in the bowl last year (perception of whether they can compete), in.

Oklahoma, similarly ranked, with Heisman winner 2nd year in a row, one close loss and they avenged that in the conference championship: that trumps our claim.

There's no reason to think that Guice, Fournette, etc would make any difference in the Bama game, which would still be a decisive loss.
It's along the lines of the Ohio State argument: need to not get thumped in the regular season. We'd be ahead of Ohio State, but not the others. And we'd still likely lose to either Alabama or Clemson, and Oklahoma might outshoot us. Only team I'm fairly comfortable we'd beat would be Notre Dame, and as noted we lost to them last season.

Maybe. Probably a better chance if he had been an official during the aTm game.

That doesn't really matter.

There's no formula or equation that gets you into the playoffs, it's decided by a group of people behind closed doors.

Alabama got in last year because they're Alabama, have won a buttload of titles since Saban came, Saban's the consensus best coach in college (now, with considerations for alltime). That and an 11-1 record bought them into the tourney. Georgia got in because it was the SEC champ. Flip the scenario, Georgia doesn't get in, Auburn and Florida don't, and LSU doesn't. You get 2 SEC teams in because someone else took Bama's place, and the committee wants TV ratings.

Think that isn't true? Go look- you can win the Big 12 and get in, as long as you're Oklahoma (and probably Texas). TCU, Baylor, etc... nope.

LSU can get in, but not at the expense of other equally respected national programs, if we don't have a conference title and they do. It's been over a decade since we won a title, that credit is fading.

Like I said before- Oklahoma was 12-1, avenged it's only loss, and had the Heisman Trophy winner. They were in, unless Ohio State went undefeated (then it would have been Bama, Clemson, Notre Dame and Ohio State). LSU would have been 5th or so.
