So women get all the benefits of a career in the military without the responsibility of registering for selective service. Sounds about right for modern America.

The TS needs to edit his title and OP. There is ZERO integration.

I’m just making a point here. They might surprise you and perform well.
I know some female officers that can take care of business.
oh im not disagreeing with you, just pointing out that when it comes to the military things are very different. police and fire depts dont have coed showers with guys and girls in there at the same time all the time.
and yes women are not wusses, but lets be honest, they on average are not as strong or as large as men are physically
no objective person can deny that when it comes time to carry a 200+ lbs fellow soldier a mile or two to get to a safe zone, that is something very few if any women can do. its not a slam on women or how fit and strong they are, its just the differences in how we are built

We had a female platoon when I went through Army bootcamp in the early 80s. I am not sure it makes much difference either way during Bootcamp.
We did too at Fort Jackson. It never mattered, very few were decent looking anyway.

My son and father-in-law are turning over in their grave.

Well, by the time we were done they were all pretty hot.

This is genius, they’ll never finish their pipelines because they’ll be away on maternity leave.

Mine was all male. The old ladies at the chow hall were looking good by the end.

This should work at well. I wonder if the marines will be allowed to honestly evaluate the problems this causes.
They may be allowed to evaluate it, but the Pentagon will tell them to ignore the data, and make it happen.
That’s what happened with their study on combat arms, and integrating women.
Mixed units performed worse in 70 of 134 measurable catagories, often by a large margin. Women were also injured far more frequently, and their injuries were much more serious, leading to long periods when they were away from their units.
And the study just stuck with raw measurables, like fireman carries, or accuracy with a heavy weapon. It did not get into the discipline or fraternization issues.
The Corp ultimately concluded that integrated units were far less lethal, and far less reliable. And that putting women into combat arms roles was a terrible terrible idea.

Oh don’t worry, they’ll just lower them again.
Can’t have people failing.

As a previous enlisted active Marine, this gives me a sad.
Pretty much my opinion on it had been stated multiple times by others, but it’s incredibly irresponsible and not efficient at all. The commandant is obviously just another yes man and will play the political game. Mattis was the last high ranking officer that truly had the enlisted guys’ backs.
The officers who sign off on this are more to blame than anyone because they know better but are advancing their political careers by playing the game.

Only a matter of time.
But maybe, just maybe, we get lucky and Webb becomes Secdef and reverses all this.
