Even if it isn’t for Raymond LSU still needs to pay him what he deserves.

No way should Tommie Robinson and Jerry Sullivan be making more than CR

If we lose Busch, do we hire a safety coach to replace him, or hire a separate positional hire?

Raymond or Busch would both be huge losses.

Think of all the useless recruiters we employ currently.

Would hate to lose Busch. Thought he did a great job this year.

Raymond's pay increase is overdue.

Fields got lost on his way to Ohio State. They just sent the plane for him. Nothing to see here.

To this day I still don't understand why LSU pays Sullivan more than they are paying Raymond.

According to 24/7 sports, Raymond is the one of the highest paid DB coaches in College. I believe he is third highest as a DB coach only.

It will be Busch. OSU lost their safety coach (Alex Grinch) to OU today

And he should be first. We are DBU. He gets his money until we are not

We need to hang on to Raymond if at all possible. I'm not sure we should back up the Brinks truck, but he's worth a raise. If he wants something asinine, I'm sure Aranda could bring in another piece to the puzzle. I think we lose some in-state talent in coming years if Raymond walks, though. This should be a great opportunity for the powers that be to re-assess the payroll allocations.

I get the concern, but part of being a top program is that other programs poach your coaching talent.

Most assistants will eventually move on. Just a part of the natural life cycle of a coaching staff. You can only give so many raises.

Also was told not CR

kind of a side question... everybody has succession plans for contingency. Is CR in line as a successor to Aranda whenever he eventually leaves. I was curious if he is in an understudy situation with DA right now.

Yep. Not many guys like Bud Foster who have no problem staying an assistant at the same school for 30 years. If people hire away your assistants a lot, it generally means they did a good job. And if you can’t offer them a coordinator or HC job and someone else is, not much to be said if they leave.

Especially with Sullivan taking his SS, having a pension, and being on Medicare. This should be supplemental pay for him

CR isn't getting the LSU DC gig without having DC experience under his belt IMO. CR is a great DB coach, but much like O, the X and O portion of the job is not his strongest suit.
