I will go with Otis Redding.

The man faced challenges growing up in the south in the era that he did that entertainers today couldn't comprehend.

Upon the time of his very early death, he had made himself a beloved singer/performer and successful businessman in other ventures. Otis Redding was as naturally talented as one could hope to be.
